I haven't seen the Departed but I have seen the first Godfather, which I didn't know what to expect but ended up being awesome.

I'm not into mobster films... unless it contains shoot outs or heists or chases!

The Departed is a really great film. And the film does have some great shoot outs, its just an awesome film that most of the mainstream (even those who dislike mobster films) will find themselves enjoying.

I've seen, in this order, Inglorious Basterds, Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. I like them in that order.

I hope one day to muster the energy to sit through The Godfather. It's on my lovefilm queue, so it will arrive eventually.

It's actually not difficult to watch, very smooth, "non-boring" storytelling. If anything it needs some attention to know what's going on. But this is just for me, might be different for others.

My friend once organized a Godfather marathon--all 3 films at once. I don't think anybody lasted all the way through, except maybe the guy that initiated it in the first place.

Thought it was about time I should "weigh-in" on this.

I've never seen "The Wizard Of Oz", "Goodfellas" or "Casino", to name but three, and I absolutely refuse to subject myself to "Mary Poppins".

I'm a bit like Chris Lowe: "I don't like much, really, do I? But what I do like, I love passionately". *

P.s. I was going to watch "Avatar" on the telly the other day, but a good friend reliably informed me that life's too short. Ho hum.

I do admit that I can't understand how a self-professed fan of prog rock hasn't paired The Wizard of Oz with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon to see how really well they complement each other, at least for the first time through.

Goodfellas was good, once. It's really only worth it for Pesci's spazzing. I haven't seen Casino in its entirety either. I can't really tell you how they're different since their casts and plot are similar.

P.s. I find "DSOTM" overblown, over-hyped and just plain uninteresting, even it approaches listenable by the time we get to "Any Colour You Like". I prefer "Animals".
