Extracting Music From Film Channels
Manakin Skywalker replied to CompleteRecordingSessions's topic in General Discussion
You'd have to download the audio from YouTube and manually check it. The easiest way would be too, er, obtain the episode. -
Low Below was extremely different from how I imagined it, even re-listening to Ragoz's mockup beforehand for comparison. And I wasn't expecting the chant from the end of Show Us Your Hook to make a surprise cameo at the end, but to a different tempo/melody!

Believe it or not YouTube does support 5.1! That would depend on if the uploader did upload it in 5.1 or not though. Most of the time YouTube clips are in stereo (and extremely compressed on top of that). Like I said above, technically YouTube does support 5.1, but that might not be the case here. Also a standard YouTube audio downloader wouldn't support multichannel, you'd have to use something more like YT-DLP. -

Nope. It's because in multi-channel rips (5.1, 7.1, etc.) you can isolate certain channel sets. For example most dialogue tends to be primarily in the center channel, so naturally if you mute that, most of the dialogue will disappear. Most of the sound effects tend to be in the front channels, but can sometimes swing over to the rear channels as well, in which case you need to constantly remove sections of each channel that have the most sfx. At the same time, the front channels are the most accurate representation of the music's stereo mix, so you want to preserve those as much as possible. -

See the difference with the other comments is they clarify that they're stating their personal opinions, and not being cocky about it. filmmusic said he didn't particularly love the score. Archive Collection is speculating that perhaps Bill Ross had more input than originally thought. Tydirium is thinking the same thing. Damien F shared his personal opinion on how the situation could've possibly gone. The difference with you is that you often state your opinion as though it's an objective fact, with the tone that everyone who disagrees with you is wrong and stupid. No one would show "waves of anger" toward you if you just shared your opinion and treated it as such... and perhaps toned down the melodramatics.

Mike Matessino: "At least 5" new Williams releases due this year
Manakin Skywalker replied to Jay's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Well don't worry, Mike and Jay have probably been hard at work on an expansion since 2009 EDIT: I didn't expect to accidentally make an RLM reference -

How would that make a difference? Not to mention a lot of the older labels don't even exist anymore, or have been absorbed into larger entities. It's funny you guys brought up that Alex guy, I was literally about to ask Richiestudman if his name was Alex right before I saw @crumbs' comment since he was saying the same things on Facebook verbatim!

The more I think about it, the more this feels like a straight-up scam. The use of the word "complete" feels so intentional... they knew that ill-informed people would see that title and just blind buy it. And that price. $30 per disc. Holy shit! There's no way they're not screwing with us at this point. After the DoD debacle and people not receiving their copies for months, I don't know how anyone can trust DME anymore. I'm willing to bet the majority of people who are going to purchase this set are just scalpers looking to resell them on Ebay/Discogs.

They always announced them on Thanksgiving as far back as I remember. I don't recall them breaking from that tradition last year 🤔 Regardless though, they're doing it at 9PM PST on Thanksgiving this year.
