Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 almost 2 minutes of unreleased music to your first questionand nothing special but a clean ending to your secondFull analysis coming soon
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Yes. OK Here's what's on it (WORK IN PROGRESS)  01. The Adventures of Tintin 3:04 [ALL] = OST 01 The Adventures of Tintin with possibly a different harpsichord solo at the end?  02. The Secret of the Scrolls 1:36 [ALL] = OST 03 The Secret of the Scrolls [0:00-1:33] with the proper clean ending. (The album track incorrectly crossfades to another cue)  03. Marlinspike Hall 2:11 [All] = OST 05 Marlinespike Hall [0:00-2:02] with the proper clean ending. (The album track incorrectly crossfades to another cue). There's weird edits through the cue so I'd grab ONLY the clean ending and use the OST track otherwise  04. The Thompsons and Snowy In Pursuit 5:14 [0:00-1:43] (1:43) = COMPLETELY UNRELEASED CUE, the real music for the Introduction of the Thompsons (with the mystery solving theme, the piano music for falling down the stairs, etc.) I'm now convinced that OST 04 0:00-0:34 is from another part of the movie entiretly. [1:43-1:47] (0:04) = OST 04 Introducing The Thompsons and Snowy's Chase 0:34-0:38 [1:47-1:52] (0:05) = Note: This is different from OST 04 0:38-0:52! [1:52-end] (3:22) =OST 04 Introducing The Thompsons and Snowy's Chase 0:52-end [NOTE: There's an extra piano note - possibly tracked? - at 2:04] There's some editing in the FYC version as well, so otherwise use the OST.  05. Escape From The Karaboudjan 3:20 [ALL] = OST 06 Escape From The Karaboudjan (No differences I noticed at a quick glance)  06. Captain Haddock Takes The Oars 2:49 [0:00-0:22] (0:22) = UNRELEASED MUSIC (the end of the cue I had called "The Third Unicorn") (Great variation of the Unicorn Theme!!!) [0:22-1:35] (1:13) = OST 08 Captain Haddock Takes The Oars [0:00-1:14] The cue is not supposed to end here; A scene was deleted from the final film. Also watch out for weird edits. [1:35-1:42] (0:07) = OST 10 Capturing Mr. Silk [1:03-1:08] [1:42-2:01] (0:19) = OST 10 Capturing Mr. Silk [1:17-1:37] but edited down!! [2:01-end] (0:48) = UNRELEASED MUSIC! I never noticed the film version is completely different from the end of the OST track!  07. Capturing The Plane 2:15 [ALL] = COMPLETELY UNRELEASED CUE
King Mark 3,835 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Hey already 5 minutes of unreleased music and only halfway
Once 940 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Woah! I wish my parents would let me bid on ebay! This looks amazing.
Jilal 628 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 The Adventures of Tintin is the film mix, with extra cymbals.
Jilal 628 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Wow! The End Credits suite has Tintin's theme with male choir!I heard the major version of Palpatine's Theme...
Little Ghost 7,900 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Wow! The End Credits suite has Tintin's theme with male choir!Stuff like that can get you banned here
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 08. The Flight To Bagghar 4:02 [0:00-0:54] (0:54) = OST 11 0:00-0:50 with a HORRIBLE faked ending [0:54-2:42] (1:48) = OST 11 1:02-2:46 (NOTE: FYC 0:58-1:08 is longer than OST 1:06-1:12 - NO idea if its looped or the OST is edited down). [2:42-3:04] (0:22) = UNRELEASED MUSIC (No idea if later-recorded insert, or if OST version is edited down) [3:04-3:07] (0:03) = OST 11 2:46-2:50 [3:07-3:17] (0:10) = UNRELEASED MUSIC (No idea if later-recorded insert, or if OST version is edited down) [3:17-end] (0:45) = OST 11 2:50-end (Watch out for several artificial pauses added at the end! Â 09. Sir Francis and the Unicorn 5:22 [0:00-end] = OST 07 0:09-end with ATROCIOUS film loops, edits, etc. Don't bother with any part of it. Â 10. Feather Knife 2:37 [0:00-1:17] (1:17) = OST 09 0:00-1:14 (with film loops) [1:17-1:58] (0:41) = OST 09 1:20-2:00 [1:58-2:12] (0:14) = UNRELEASED MUSIC [2:12-end] (0:25) = OST 09 2:00-2:19 (with film loops, but a correct clean ending)
Jilal 628 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Sir Francis and the Unicorn has unreleased music in it.
Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 05. Escape From The Karaboudjan 3:20[ALL] = OST 06 Escape From The Karaboudjan (No differences I noticed at a quick glance)There is a microedit at 0:24 and at 0:29.Presenting this kind of edits is stupid. no one is going to notice you submitted 1 second more in a cue, but they may think the cuts sound atrocious and think that is your composing skills...
Maurizio 5,946 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Looks like they used the stems directly from the film mix.
Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Looks like they used the stems directly from the film mix.shame they didnt release the full iso score. i could live with that...
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 11. Dueling Pirates and Rackham's Curse 4:00[0:00-3:24] = OST 09 2:19-5:33 (with film edits and looping, including a truly awful one at 0:19)[3:24-3:33] = OST 09 5:45-5:54[3:33-3:47] = OST 09 5:33-5:45[3:47-end] = OST 09 5:54-end
King Mark 3,835 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Well it looks like we have some work to do
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 12. The Milanese Nightingale 1:37[0:00-0:09] (0:09) = UNRELEASED MUSIC - the end of "We're Being Followed". Where's the rest of the cue?[0:09-end] = OST 12 (ALL)
Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 um capturing the plane has a tracked edning from karaboudjan escape, right? i think i noticed this in the film.12. The Milanese Nightingale 1:37[0:00-0:09] (0:09) = UNRELEASED MUSIC - the end of "We're Being Followed". Where's the rest of the cue?[0:09-end] = OST 12 (ALL)tracked from tinker-tin? it sounded like that.

Jilal 628 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I wonder why they didn't use the extra 17 minutes.

King Mark 3,835 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 so what's the Crane Fight unreleased music
Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 pursuit of the falcon also has several edits. the ending is like slowed down or exteneded. there is a oboe in the tintin theme there.
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 13. The Falcon and the Flood 5:54 [0:00-0:54] = OST 14 [0:00-0:55] [0:54-0:56] = UNRELEASED pause microedited out of the OST ("I can smell it on your breath!") [0:56-4:56] = OST 14 [0:55-4:51 (with film loops and edits) and a weird overlay or tracking at 3:26. Also horrible tracking at 3:49. [4:56-5:01] = UNRELEASED MUSIC [5:01-5:06] = OST 14 4:51-4:55 [5:06-5:08] = UNRELEASED MUSIC (Probably removed from OST due to the LOUD orchestra noise [5:08-5:22] = OST 14 4:55-5:09 [5:22-5:31] = either UNRELEASED or tracked music, not sure [5:31-end] = OST 5:26-end  14. The Captain's Counsel 2:09 [ALL] = OST 15 (No differences I noticed at a quick glance)
Nemesis 287 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I'm glad that "Return To Marlinspike Hall" does not have this strange volume boost at 0:24 like the OST has, at least not as heavy.I think 1:48 - end of "Capturing The Plane" is released on the OST.
Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 i said so, from escape from karaboudjan.
Little Ghost 7,900 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I'm glad that "Return To Marlinspike Hall" does not have this strange volume boost at 0:24 like the OST has, at least not as heavy.I think 1:48 - end of "Capturing The Plane" is released on the OST.It could be a similar piece, but different recording.
Luke Skywalker 2,216 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 i dont have the sheet music. but the sounds the strings do in the end really sound too similar.anyway..i prefer it tracked, if not williams is very lazy wow 'the adventure continues' ending is completely ruined. how awful.
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 15. The Crane Fight 5:14[0:00-0:33] (0:33) = OST 15 0:00-0:38 (with film edits)[0:33-1:44] (1:11) = UNRELEASED MUSIC (Mostly tracked from 1m21C Old Enemies Meet). fommes 161 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 From the looks of it, this is going to take some editing work! The new music tidbits sound pretty exciting though.
King Mark 3,835 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 yeah it's like the unreleased music is in between TPM UE type material
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 16. Return To Marlinspike Hall 1:12 [ALL] = OST 16 [0:00-1:07] with the correct clean ending. An overall better mix too. Â 17. Finale 3:18 [ALL] = OST 16 [2:35-end] with a clean opening (Though the OST opening is already pretty much clean). Also an overall better mix. Oh! And the correct CLEAN ENDING (The OST incorrectly crossfades into the next track!). Funnily enough, you can heard the End Credits start BRIEFLY at the every end here after the fadeout. Sloppy. There's also some editing/looping in here somewhere. Â 18. End Credits 6:09 [ALL] Editorially created end credits, not gonna bother to break it down
Ravi Krishna 84 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Looks really cool! Does The Crane Fight have that unreleased Red Rackham's Theme/Unicorn Theme segment that was playing in the Tintin UK website?

Jilal 628 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Looks really cool! Does The Crane Fight have that unreleased Red Rackham's Theme/Unicorn Theme segment that was playing in the Tintin UK website? No. That's from the original version of "Old Enemies Meet".
King Mark 3,835 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 EXACTLY 8 MINUTES of unreleased material (not counting clean openings/endings)Well it's better than I expected
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 It's better in that there's more music, but worse in how buried it in other other tracks!I was going to attempt editing this all today but holy hell, this is a compllcated job! Gonna need to set aside some decent time to tackle this
Henry B 51 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Yay! Seldom do we see unreleased Williams music so soon. Jay, thanks for buying this and good luck with your editing...
Jay 42,686 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 We gotta get Joe to do a fan edit - the recording sessions will surely leak right after he does!
Pieter Boelen 1,020 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 So... any thoughts for a quick and dirty extended edit?
