Great news on the Williams featurette. Now we only need an iso score or previz-sequences for the entire film with score-only audio track. :P

Posted

Two isolated scores actually - one the final theatrical music with all the edits and tracking, and one Williams original intentions including the dropped pieces recorded in '10

Now that would be the first.

This is going to be a painfully long wait in the United States. I wonder if it'll be region free.

I know how badly you want this Snowy statue, Manuel. ;)

Well that he does. I wonder if this collector's edition comes also without the statuette.

It could be Spielberg. The KotCS special edition DVD came with a mini Crystal Skull.

Williams already forgot he scored Tintin

He'll probably rant on and on about Snowy's theme for five minutes before we awkwardly fade to black.

And just before the image fades you can hear the interviewer shouting "ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THAT ANATOMICALLY ANOMALOUS CANINE!!!!"

I have a feeling they're going to have this in the 16:9 ratio. It doesn't look like the cut out the sides for the video.

I don't remember that slow-motion bit from when I saw the movie? I don't like it.

Posted

It makes me cringe, I think I remember it from the movie. It's not as bad as the one at the beginning of War Horse though, that was painful.

Yeap they just wanted to extend that jump for a fraction of a second more I guess. Not a huge deal for me although not one of my favourite effects either.

I like it. I don't remember Spielberg doing this, right now. It's like a James Cameron shot. It's also a bit like when Snyder reproduces comic book panels in the middle of movement his films.

I think as long as the scene earns it it's fine. In this case the two big setpieces culminate into a jump with a slow motion moment so it's stylistically consistent.

I agree. It's a nice and very effective shot.

The specs of the Blu-Ray

1080p High Definition

High Definition 2.35:1

No 7.1 audio!

DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1

I think anything other than one of the best video transfers on blu ray would be disappointing. The audio will probably be good too.
