DA BUNNIES OF DOOM, please. Show them some respect. They could cut your head off, if they wanted to.

That's right. You thought an evil floating eye was bad?! Well, let's just say you don't mess with da bunnies of doom!!!

Hello, my name is Pasi, I'm an alcoholic.

I also saw the newest Bat film today and I think I'm going to root to this thread for awhile.

Sorry for the silly comments before, after the 3 hours with Bat, I love Mr. Howard Shore and Mr. Peter Jackson.

I'm looking forward to this movie. And the sequels. Great film making. Awesome music.

I think it was her at first, too. But then I looked again, and it doesn't look like her. Not entirely sure, though.

Maybe she is the stuntwoman.

Probably, yeah.

Oh so it is. I kind of skipped over those ComiCon sections. Silly of me.

Silly you indeed. We also get to hear Radagast at one point. Not that anybody cares...

*I* care

Even though I enjoy Batman a lot, I love this post.

Yeah, but that's because you're weird. You're kinda like JWFAN's Radagast...

Manuel doesn't yet have a bird nest under his hat. Yet. Or what do I know. Maybe he has. And a BUNNY SLED OF DOOM!

Its DA bunny sled of doom. Please show them some respect Incanus.

Are you mad?! Da bunnies of doom can't just ride on a regular sled!

I will not bow down to the strange ways you have corrupted the proper language. It is a Bunny of Doom, the Bunnies of Doom and when the Bunnies of Doom pull a sled it becomes a Sled of Doom and is usually referred as The Bunny Sled of Doom by the civilized folk. None of the vernacular babble and riff raff abuse of this tongue is proper here.

My field of expertise is rabbits and birds, i'll tell you that.

Well I'll be... Welcome Radagast the Brown. I didn't recognize you at first with that disguise but you are, they say, a master of hues and shapes.

With all the gandalf avatars, i wanted to be radagast...but since no pic of him yet... i couldnt use any :(

And i think we (I) had concluded that the bunnies of doom were jackrabbits/hares?

was there a pic of them?

How about this until they release a proper film version of Radagast's picture:

Radagast_(Decipher).JPG

It is actually staged by Weta since it is from a licensed collectible card game. So it is semi-canonical :)

I always wondered where that picture came from? Is that really Mccoy as Radagast?

i dislike it...i think he needs a hat. And the oversized chiffchaff, the horror.

but i't will do...

I always wondered where that picture came from? Is that really Mccoy as Radagast?

it was made for a trading card game or warhammer game.

Nope. As I said the picture is for a collectible card game which was released at the time of the LotR films. Since the films did not feature all the famous characters from Tolkien's stories Weta staged several character photos just to be used for the card game. Radagast and Ghân-Buri-Ghân are two I can remember but I am sure there were others.

Ahh. I see. I skipped over that. Thats interesting.

Here is Tom Bombadil from the same collectible card game:

I prefer this picture, I think it's better :)

Oh my. What foreboding news. I really hope they do not try to turn this into a trilogy. It will only end up gimmicky and way too prolonged.

I got that Warhammer figure :), awesome.

Though i painted the crow as a falcon, it's cooler looking :)

LOL, I always thought that the bird was an eagle or a falcon.

Well, it's the end of July; many news stories coming out this time of the year turn out to be not so true. Personally, I would find a third movie total overkill; LotR got three, and the book is like 3 times longer than the Hobbit

Posted

COME ON! TELL ME THIS ISN'T TRUE!

We don't need The Hobbit: Dark Side Of The Shire!

Making a trilogy?! No! I refuse to accept it.Utter blasphemy I tell you.

Seriously, I think Jackson is just rambling on like this for the sake of press and media attention. They just closed up the shop, the actors went home, the massive crew has been put to rest. There is no way he's going to be able to write the damn film, gather everyone together again, shoot the movie and put it through post-production for a 2014 release.

Ridiculous. Its all a farce I tell you.

Posted

I think if they make The Hobbit franchise into a trilogy, they should just make the third installment a hand-drawn animated film with songs to tell the story. That's an original idea, right?

Posted

The bearded one must have gone completely nuts!

It is hard enough to maintain the feeling that the Hobbit is one book, with two movies and fictitious appendices squeezed in.

If Jackson feels he needs three movies, then that is probably due to the fact that he added too much redundant stuff (and not even Tolkien's redundant stuff) to the core story.

If stretching it to two movies means Tauriel and Ringwraith tombs, then Jesus Christ in high heaven forbid another movie.

Dontcha think He has more important things to do than stop a movie?

Finally had a chance to watch Production Video #8 just now (I know, I know). Holy SHIT, that tantalizing glimpse of finished footage at 1:16 was freaking incredible! Why oh why can't the whole comic con reel leak online!

I didn't notice Evangeline Lilly at all when I watched, so I'm glad that it was pointed out in this thread she's at 4:34 and 11:32. Does anybody know why she doesn't appear in any talking head portions like just about every one else? Is she refusing to do them, or does she maybe not appear until the second film?

The sets are inCREDible, especially Dale - wow! Radagast's home looked great too, and that actor playing him seems like a funny guy. Why didn't they show him in full costume yet? Speaking of costumes, I continue to be impressed with all the dwarf costumes and hair/make-up, great stuff.

I didn't realize before that the Pushing Daisies guy was in the film, so that's pretty cool. As always, I greatly enjoyed seeing Alan Lee and John Howe working on the films. Looking forward to seeing the full documentaries that will inevitably come out on the blu rays.

I have no problem with it. Did you have a problem with Lurtz too?

Posted

But you have no problem with Galadriel being in the film?

Posted

But Tauriel's presence isn't justified by the whole Mirkwood plot being included in the film?
