  1. Isn't it amazing though! He's been with his partner for 18 years! I love it... Dr. Wu (B. D. Wong) is gay too. He wrote a book about he and his partner adopting twins... serogate twins, and they were born early and one died. I think it was called "Finding Fu." And Ian McKellen (Gandelf) if I'm not mistaken as well. I just think it's great that these peopl are feeling comfortable enough to say this publically. I feel bad that they have to even worry about saying it... But I think it's just great that more people are... giving a positive image to the gay community... so that people can see that gays arn't horrible people... that they are just normal people...
  2. Just thought you all might find this mildly amusing: http://www.withlouis.com/film/yoda/
  3. reminds me of "The Color Purple" but dark... and a gun instead of a book... and a man instead of a woma-- ok... maybe not entirely the same... but still...
  4. yea... I wish it had been a little better quality. It cuts out at the statement of the t-rex/raptor theme... which IS in the movie... just a little bit latter. They replaces that music with other tings, and then tracked it back in as muldoon was climbing over a tree log... and goes to take his hat off... I've got that all on here. I even redid "Clever Girl" because the end of it, after the point where he says "Clever Girl" had released music, it was just the little bit before that that was unreleased.

But that's ... everything...all the music...
  6. oh sorry about that... I just ran into it on another board and notice no one had said it here... sorry I didn't check... my bad
  7. http://music.aol.com/artist/main.adp?tab=a...&albumid=802181 Enjoy... already listening...
  8. Maybe I missed this but, is this track up on the site?
  9. I tend not to buy any more James Horner. I love his old school, 80's stuff... like... An American Tale, or The Land Before Time... and Willow... I'm sure there are other good scores but I've not seen the movies so I didn't ge tthem. As far as the 90's go... I have very few scores of his. I have Titanic which I love to death, but I didn't get anything else because I, too, feel his music has become so uninspired and rehashed that I just can't understand why people use his music. I personally don't like his new style of writing... It reminds me Alan Silvestri--hear me out. Alan Silvestri tends to write one theme for a movie, and then plays it over and over and over and over again in varying forms... Not to say I don't like his scores, Heck, I think I have more Alan S. scores than James H. I just don't feel as inspired by the James H. I also lost a lot of respect when I saw Bicentennial Man for the 2nd time. The first time, I watched it in French at a party--because my friend thought it would be funny... No one watched it... But then it was on tv so I ACTUALLY watched it... and was almost HORRIFIED when the begining credits started... I was like "Isn't that music from A BeautifulMind?!" ... so I rushed to play the A Beautiful Mind soundtrack... and sure enough, it was almost EXACTLY the same thing! Lost a lot of respect in that moment. Sure, John Williams does that too, but NEVER so blatantly obvious and in the same context. It would be like having the star wars fanfare at the begining of Memoirs of a Geisha! I have to say that on the whole, I do not buy his scores. I am, however, sometimes pleasantly surprised by some of his new scores--The Perfect Storm being one instance. I heard it on the satilite radio in a friends car and I didn't recognize the music... so I said "It sounds James Horner but... he sucks." and we laughed and then I contined "No.. but seriously... it would be james horner if a piano started playing." No sooner than I'd said that, but the piano kicked in and we all laughed. I said something along the lines of "Well, the harp needs to come in now," and it did...so We all decided that it had to be James Horner, and when we checked, it was...Fun game. I went out and got that soundtrack too. I also have a few others.... But on the most part, I feel totally uninspired by the modern James Horner... but he does occasionally surprise me. Also... Has anyone ever noticed how in almost all his scores, the percussion people sound WAY off... like... especially A Beautiful Mind... it sounds like the person back there is just tinking away not even WATCHING the conductor...
  10. Please, tar and feather me because I spelt it with an "a" instead of an "o." Also, I tend to only have John Williams scores... I don't have any of the other recordings really... and since, it's not on the score's... I don't have it... Don't act so surprised...
  11. I always thought they were simlar if not the same... I never really listened to Han and Lea... Is there even an arrangement of that like there is for Lea? because the only han and lea theme I have is str8 in the score when C3PO interrupts them if memory serves... And yes, very similar to Marians theme...
  12. I didn't like the score to that movie... that's all I do remember lol
  13. forgive me for ressurecting this thread but... I've made some discovries... I found that the original trailer for JP, the one that came out before any cg dinosaurs had been put on film and before the score was recorded, the music in the trailer consisted of two selections from "Backdraft," a score by Hans Zimmer along with an "Indiana Jones" track. Backdraft: Burn it all-as we're all familiar the very beat driven piece that plays in TLW trailer as well. Arson's Walts-this one I've never listened to before until tonight when I went looking for the music that was playing in this trailer. It's really cool and works rather well! Indiana Jones: Indy's Very First Adventure--this track is used for about 5 seconds and consists of just the very begining mood setting sound music until it cuts to the "Arson's Walts." I'm still trying to find the ending of this trailer's music... but I will eventually. Then it's off to the trailer that has the JP music in it... now that I can do lol...
  14. Whenever my boyfriend calls, Han and Lea plays, but I personally love Across the Stars. I have to admit, it does have a statement of a "modulating" I believe the term is, part of something from my favourite movie score ever--A.I.--more specifically, Abandoned in the Woods, in it... but that's ok lol... I actually use to joke around that if you asked John Williams what Love was, he'd say 12/8 lol...
  15. I was curious, I've noticed that in some movies, temp tracks taken from John Williams scores are present, like in the animatics to that pixar film about the superhero family--which name eludes me at 4:27 in the morning. The temp track for the chase scene on the island was taken from Minority Report. I was curious if Jurassic Park had a temp track as I noticed something interesting: The trailes for Jurassic Park and The Lost World include a track from Hans Zimmer's score to 'Backdraft,' called "Burn it all." This track is really a part of a piece that goes on for ...4 tracks or so? I was trying to edit them to find all the music in the JP trailers--that wasn't Indiana Jones or "Burn it All" and ran into an interesting thing. The very end of "You Go, We Go" ends in a blatant statement of the Jurassic Park theme by the flute!... Coincoidence? Maybe... That's why I'm curious if JP had a temp track because aparently someone there liked the music from Backdraft enoguh to have it in the trailers for two of the films... and perhaps it was used as part of the temp track? Anyone know?
  16. Good idea, the DVD comes out in all of 11 days, may as well wait. Could get it cleaner and better quality that way... and it occurs to me we'll probably be getting a wealth of music then...wee!
  17. I can rip the audio from the files if you all think it would be worth it?
  18. yes, how are you seeing these? is it a hyperspace thing?
  19. What is is with tha tmovie and December lol? Didn't all the movies come out that month too? or am I imagining that lol. I'm definately gettting it though... and $13.50 a cd isn't that bad eaither..
  20. It just occured to me. This wasn't recorded with the LSO? Or did they record the soloists in LA and then record with the LSO latter? How often has he not used the LSO?
  21. I wonder.... Was Horner paid well for Titanic... because I know that the film--prior to the release, had many financial problems because no one wanted to put any money in to. My guess would be Horner wasn't paid all that well and it would be cheaper to go synth than full real... I dunno...
  22. Dry Wit and Sarcasm aside. It was mentioned that there is still music in Battlefront II... I still have the demo disk--like I would have thrown it away after I ripped the music lol. Is this true because I can go back and rip more. I don't recall hearing this music though
  23. John Williams does enjoy a good synth in his scores... even when it's not so prominant Id say a harpsicord... Eaither they did something in the recording process or it's a synth version..
  24. Someone had mentioned they'd sythned a clean "boom boom" of the timpani for the begining of ROTS. I was wondering If I could get a hold of that. I've been working on my version and I figured out how to loop that underneath the begining. The problm is you can still kinda hear the hiss and I can't clean it up at all. Could I maybe get that whoever had it? I was just curious because I've finished my edit but it could probably sound a litle cleaner if I had that drum beat clean. I wish we had those 10 seconds lol
