  1. Agreement. I used to listen to Last Crusade all the time. Then, it went on hiatus. But not too long ago I popped it back in and it just blew my mind (again). Truly an amazing piece of work, especially the action cues. And that Grail theme...goosebumps every time.
  2. crazy am I? do i hear a small snippet of zorro's horner sprinkled throughout? specifically, the very last track, 4:56-4:59 or at least something that sounds similar to it? not necessarily exactly like it.
  3. odd request. anybody got any pictures of what the cd case, packaging and the booklet look like a) altogether (how you would find it in the store) and B) each piece separated alternatively, anybody know where I could find pictures of the aforementioned items? i've tried teh interweb but no luck. thanks.
  4. if you go to the mission: impossible movie site and just leave it alone, you can listen to what amounts to about 7 to 10 minutes worth of score. it includes most of the bits heard on the "First Listen" over at Soundtrack.Net, but it also contains some of the music that encapsulates those portions.
  5. i know this has nothing to do with the release date, but if you go to ComingSoon or the official Mission Impossible website, you can take a look at 9 clips from the movie. Some of those clips contain portions of the score. From the little that I heard, and because some of those clips are the tops, it sounds like this score is gonna be awesome. also, they've just released the track list and cover art over at amazon and varese sarabande. love the title to track 19. and the release date as well: 5/9/06
  6. i don't mean to be a "debbie downer" (painful SNL skit by the way), but isn't this the same "The Fury" album available at Varese's site for $11.98 (plus S & H of course)? cuz if it is, you could have saved yourself a few extra bucks. unless you're filthy rich, then by all means, buy me a copy please
  7. Anybody have any clue when this score is going to be released? Most likely it will be released around the same time as the movie (duh), but I was just wondering if anybody knew of an exact date. I am eagerly anticipating this one. Thanks.
  8. I've always found it kinda weird that when people find either hard-to-find or rare scores, they always seem to find it in some obscure little record shop, in Europe, or in a Virgin Megastore dealie. I remember like seven or eight years ago, when I was trying to find Hook, it was nowhere to be found. Of course, I was a Best Buy type of guy. Then one day, I pop into a Virgin Megastore and there it is. I'm not sure why I didn't buy it right then and there, but in any case, I found it years later at a Tower Records and that was when I bought it. And now, I see it all the time. The world is plotting against me.
  9. I tried searching for this in previous posts, but there were too many. So if it's been mentioned before...sue me. Anyways, anybody know if they are planning on re-releasing this score again? I used to see it all the time in stores and now, poof, it's gone. Guess it's out of print or something. A thought, anyone? Thanks.
  10. wow, i had the bloody album and i didn't even recognize the music. if it the UE weren't so disjointed i might have caught on. anyways, thanks a bunch. not sure if i missed it earlier, but a really amazing and goosebumpy force theme rendition is in ROTJ, when Vader picks up Palpy and throws him overboard. if it's already been mentioned, then it sure doesn't hurt to mention it again
  11. finally got to hear "goodbye old friend" thanks to king mark. WOW, great stuff. i've listened to it so many times and it never gets old. i've also heard "going to utapau". yet another wonderful cue. the file that i have is about 35 seconds long. right before it ends, a new piece of music begins, but you only get to hear about 2 seconds of it. it's fairly fast-paced strings, has a kind of "serious danger ahead" type of feel to it. anybody know what part of the movie that underscores? thanks.
  12. every topic in this forum talks about how great "goodbye old friend" is. i need to hear it now! i don't have the dvd (cuz i'm waiting for the ultimate super mega release of all six movies). but yes, if anybody could be so kind as to share their "goodbye old friend" mp3 with me, i would be much obliged. thanks in advance.
  13. Rage Against the friggin' Machine! And of course...AUDIOSLAVE! Nine Inch Nails The Prodigy Metallica Coldplay to name a few
  14. Someone should make a small statue or action figure of John Williams. Or maybe even a bust. How cool would it be to be able to pet John Williams bust's head?
  15. How to watch your Star Wars, in three easy steps: 1. Watch Episodes IV-VI 2. Watch Episodes I-III 3. Watch Episodes IV-VI again Enjoy!
  16. i've been to 2 best buys so far and none of them have it. i asked one of the guys that worked there if they had anymore in stock and he said that they were the only store in the area carrying it. they also don't seem to have batman begins in stock either. methinks best buy is trying to phase out good music for toilet fodder.
  17. Will everyone stop being Horn-y. I apologize for such a lame attempt at a joke. I'll go hide under that rock over there.
  18. Anakin: M'lady, you're intoxicating, you've grown more beautiful, and you're CRAWLING with vulture droids. But I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them...and I want more aggresive negotiations. Unfortunately, I am a slow learner...and you're everything that's soft and smooth.
