  1. He has no music reading/writing skills? That's what I just read...on IMDb. I can't believe I've lived in ignorance of that fact for the past decade. That's odd, and also impressive, considering he's put out some great stuff....(Chariots of Fire, Conquest of Paradise [my favorite theme of all time...right there...especially as performed in Summon the Heroes], Bladerunner). So I would assume he...improvises the music for film? Anyone know how his approach to scoring goes? Discuss!
  2. But then again, Hedwig's theme is the greatest JW concert piece...in the last 10 something years...
  3. The above quoted psoted contains the truth. Embrace it.
  4. It's not bland, so much that it has a neutral tone to it. It's not overly joyous, or overly evil. It has this "cold" feel to it.
  5. The lowest thing on that list is at least 3 stars.
  6. "You choose to exist here..." Very true, I never found myself so emotionally wrapped up in a first-time-story with character's with so little background.
  7. I don't like Schindler's List...the movie or the soundtrack anymore than I like slitting my own wrists.... If I want sad and depressing...I want it to have a slight glimmer of hope sprinkled here and there. But then again, I also don't like Hook (besides the prologue and the first few seconds of "The Ultimate War") and I like the Phantom Meanace, so I'm sure many would find my taste questionable. If you want to know the kind of depressive music I do enjoy, go listen to The Russia House.
  8. Schindler's List has never struck a chord with me....  Schindler's Workforce and I Could Have Done More are the only tracks that have my full attention. The others just seem to meander too much, revelling in their depressiveness...although all have really beautiful moments. Angela's Ashes and Seven Years in Tibet on the other hand I really enjoyed...
  9. As much as I hate Enterprise... The pilot was the best opening to a Trek series.
  10. It's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early for TPM.
  11. PoTC?! Ahhh no.... At least do something more electronically worthy... Like Crimson Tide, Beyond Rangoon, or something....or Backdraft (Iron Chef).
  12. Pop culture is going the way of the boy wizard. Hedwig's Theme.
  13. It's not bad... It's just not nearly good enough to be compared with HP....
  14. Well...good point...but I prefer to think of that as incompetence on the part of...well...a lot of behind the scenes people for STV. On the other hand, Scotty could just easily beam a whole kit and kaboodle of tribbles over to the Death Star... And well...the rest is history.
  15. Well...the Enterprise has something the Death Star doesn't have... Kirk...Spock, or in other words people with intelligence and experience. The Death Star is filled with millions of people with the competence to hold a rifle...and...well...obviously not very steadily.
  16. Private Ryan tied with Schindler. However, I went with the one more bearably dramatic...Saving Private Ryan.
  17. *sniff* I never really got into Indiana Jones... Jurassic Park will have to be.
  18. *Shakes head* I find the margin between votes for Sith and PoA apalling. I just don't see what's great about Sith...or how it survived this far and how PoA is gotten so many votes with it as competition.
