  1. That's the best moment from the entire POA score. There is no comparison to the dementor scene at the end. I went with the "Flying Theme". My favorite statement is when E.T. revives the plant.
  2. "Han Solo And The Princess". When they enter the asteroid cave, kiss on the Falcon and the Freeze Chamber part are all > "Theme From Jurassic Park". My favorite statement of the JP theme is the end helicopter scene. I never play track 2 on the JP album.
  3. I hear the hiss on Raiders, but I only notice the pitch problems in "The Map Room: Dawn". Otherwise, I listen to it over the the DCC now. Temple sounds great to me, Last Crusade even better. Until this set I'd listened to the unreleased music either in the film or, very rarely, on awful sounding bootlegs. This is a huge step up.
  4. Even back in 1997, when Williams was probably going to re-score scenes for the Special Editions (we've seen the interview about the Imperial March), Spielberg came out with two movies that year after a 3 or 4 year directing hiatus. So Williams was only able to do a half assed Ewok celebration while they used tracked music for the rest of the scenes.
  5. If the complete score to JP is ever released, somebody better tell Laurent Bouuzuaduera to include the teaser trailer music.
  6. It's good in the various points in the movie, but I always have a hard time sitting through the repetitive concert version. It's about a minute or so too long.
  7. I think Minority Report is the same way. Though Anderton and his wife get back together, the subplot involving their missing son is never resolved. Hell, judging from the ending of WOTW Spielberg probably regretted this. Then there's the Witwer character. He's introduced as this unlikeable antagonist for Anderton, but over the course of the film as he leads the investigation he becomes more likeable and eventually realizes they're chasing the wrong man. I never liked his death because he was one of the few genuinely good guys. The pre-cogs being isolated from the world wasn't exactly happy.
  8. When I got the Batman and Batman Returns SE DVD's, one of the security stickers was placed over the paper cover insert. This ended up tearing a big chunk off. Not to mention that there's this horrendous sticky residue left on it so it can't be placed alongside other DVDs or they'll stick.
  9. Ending to War Of The Worlds sucked, massive deus ex machina when Tom Cruise's son emerges from the house after being seemingly killed in a massive explosion hundreds of miles away.
  10. Anything from LaLaLand came in damaged, cracked jewel cases and annoying sticker residue.
  11. As far as the whole Superman Theme/March debate goes, I voted for the predominant theme featured incredibly when Superman carries the Helicopter.
  12. Instead of "Remembering Childhood" theme, my vote was for the "Neverland Theme", the one that begins with the two notes repeating (heard in "Flight To Neverland" beginning when they're over the bridge and on piano during the scene where Peter remembers).
  13. ROTLA, TOD, LC, KOTCS, The Terminal, American Journey, Memoirs Of A Geisha, AI. Pretty good night.
  14. Luke Skywalker's Theme Ben's Theme Rebel Fanfare Yoda's Theme Raiders March E.T. Flying Theme Hedwig's Theme Superman March Childhood Theme (from Hook) Somewhere In My Memory
  15. Barry's King Kong 1976 score is magnificent. Anyway: Jaws, Far And Away, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return Of The Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Revenge Of The Sith, The Terminal
  16. Mine isn't loud enough. I used to have a 5th generation, got a 6th and first thing I noticed was how much lower the volume was. Turning it all the way up or adjusting the tracks in itunes do nothing.
  17. I do, mostly when I'm at work where I have to contend with the sound of machines and the horrendous volume limits of iPod.
  18. Piece of cardboard to hold disc 5 is the cheapest thing about this set. And it's damned cheap.
  19. Williams did an alternate Gilligan theme for the unaired pilot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aWS7ugvSYs
  20. "The Key" from HTSAM is so fun. I'm not totally familiar with the score and I haven't read the liner notes but I think there's music missing from the album when they kiss in the closet during the burglary ("Two Lovers" theme). It could have been tracked in the film, though.
  21. It's a good presentation but I personally can't rank it as one of the best because of the edits and conjoined cues. We still need the cue when they're reading Gabriel's letter and the proper ending of "The Colonial Cause" when Gibson rides alongside the continental army with the flag. A.I. and Revenge Of The Sith are pretty bad. Revenge suffered from most of the major problems with soundtrack albums: edits, conjoined cues and many of the score's best moments MIA. KOTCS was okay, but incomplete "Jungle Chase" and warehouse scene, three tracks devoted to the cemetery scene alone and absence of the Father's theme (or whatever you want to call it) brought the album down. There are too many boring parts and the album could have been more diverse. The best I'd agree with previously listed albums that present most of the score. I don't notice much, if anything, missing from Catch Me If You Can (there's one exception when Hanks yells out the window during the first getaway), Memoirs Of A Geisha or Minority Report.
  22. That's a joke, right...? Just trying to keep things in perspective. People are complaining about the cover art or debating which is better but it's not a big deal. They're all okay and we could have ended up with a purple Mola Ram or something as opposed to the classic artwork of Indy with the machete and whip in the temple. On the "new" Raiders cover, Indy looks a bit too Burt Reynolds but it's still cool. I prefer the 1995 CD art but I use both on the computer anyway, so I don't have to choose. The CDs themselves are just going to sit on a shelf.
