  1. I'm gonna post here my favorite end credits from Jerry Goldsmith and his best most exciting scores:
  2. Wait, Hans Zimmer has a star before John Williams? The atrocity!!!
  3. Academy Awards Composed the music for their awards ceremony. Has been nominated 45 times (most nominations of any one person) and won five Oscars. I maybe missing something but John Williams didn't composed the music for the Academy Awards ceremony, he's only a musical director. Jerry Goldsmith was the one who composed the music for the ceremony.
  4. Lionheart. The orchestral parts were done in Hungary, while the synthesizers were added in London.
  5. Carol Ann's theme, beautifully played on the piano. As well as the main theme from Rudy:
  6. Happy Birthday Maestro Goldsmith!!! Here's an awesome medley of Jerry Goldsmith's scores that I've ever seen on Youtube. And here's Maestro Goldsmith in a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1975 conducting a medley of his pre-1975 film scores. Jerry Goldsmith's Star Wars:
  7. Here's one more, beautiful arrangement in piano of Maestro JW's scores.
  8. Well I haven't seen or witnessed both man in person (and never will be in the case of JG) and it's true that most of the interviews with JW show him as a nice and amiable person, though I've read certain articles that depict him in another light.
  9. From what i've read, Goldsmith was a grouch since the 60's. Williams certainly is more gentleman-like but certaily no less intimidating. That's because Williams is too soft-spoken to be considered a grouch.
  10. Salvo proclaimed that Goldsmith was through composing dark scores; so does that mean Goldsmith's done being Herrmann and moved on to Horner???

  12. It's the mouse I've been using, the right click gets stuck. I'll buy a new one if I could just remember.
  13. Well if you're an up and coming director your best bet would be Jerry Goldsmith. Just make sure to get out of his way when he starts writing a score.

  15. I guess this was one of the reasons why some people consider John Williams a prima donna.
  16. Yeah, I was talking about a Walt Disney film. Still, that is really a fascinating article and what I really like is that John and Jerry used to compose music for each other back in the 50's. So maybe next time when we came across early Johnny's TV score it must have been Jerry who composed it and vice versa!
  17. Have John Williams ever scored a Walt Disney production?

  19. Anyone read this before? I've read this long time ago before I joined this forum and I've just recently discovered it again, so I wanted your opinions on this: http://pohocounty.bl...and-powder.html It's a very interesting article about John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith. (Also I would like to point out in that letter, it says "John Debney is the next John Williams!!!")
  20. Happy Birthday to the maestro!!! May your genius and dedication to classical composition rubbed off on our modern day composers. Bless you!!!
  21. Dude, I saw your updated list and notice one mistake: Lara's theme wasn't composed by Henry Mancini but by Maurice Jarre.
  22. We must only have two wives, but yet we can have as many mistresses as there are many Academy Award nominations... For every Oscar nomination is like a blessing of new grace and beauty...
