  1. Yeah, passing the 15th anniversary of FOTR was a weird feeling. I remember in May 1992 how ancient 1977 seemed, like Star Wars was a text passed down by many generations.
  2. Speaking of Herrmann, this week I found this piano transcription of "Scene d'Amour" from Vertigo. It's...wow, somethin' else; a truly extraordinary performance/arrangement. I've been in a Herrmann mood all week, listened to his "Welles Raises Kane" suite a bunch of times too.
  3. You really are the Eeyore of JWFan. I was wondering this myself.
  4. Reposting this here from @mrbellamy Looks like Williams will be composing (or rather, has composed) the source music (diegetic music) for The Last Jedi! Very exciting news!
  5. It's just a little sad to me that most people don't even know it's originally a Stevie Wonder song that Coolio adapted, no matter which version you prefer.
  6. I'm also just not sure that the Walkers coming below the Wall is a state of affairs that would be sustainable over multiple seasons or it would lose its sense of urgency. That's a story development that would call for fast paced storytelling in my opinion.
  7. The further they've had to stray from Martin's source and the more they've had to compress things, the less elegant, less interesting it's gotten.
  8. I have kind of a bad feeling about this season. I hope it's amazing, though.
  9. Sarcasm is a form of humor! And I was trying to reply in kind! This is a disaster, you're right let's drop it.
  10. I'll not be sarcastically replied to for nitpicking forum procedure by the King of Forum Procedure Nitpickers!
  11. Seems redundant to post a picture twice when you could just react to the first posting of it.
  12. It's a little confusing because this album: https://www.discogs.com/Bernard-Herrmann-National-Philharmonic-Orchestra-The-Mysterious-Film-World-Of-Bernard-Herrmann/release/5247273 Reuses Gulliver from the album I own, but also has Mysterious Island and Jason. And then there's this one: https://www.discogs.com/Bernard-Herrmann-Charles-Gerhardt-National-Philharmonic-Orchestra-Kiri-Te-Kanawa-Joaquin-Achucarro-C/release/2381233 So is it 2 or 3? Also, there appears to be a couple of other albums he recorded with them of music other than his own: https://www.discogs.com/Bernard-Herrmann-National-Philharmonic-Orchestra-Bernard-Herrmann-Conducts-Great-British-Film-Music/release/6945351 https://www.discogs.com/Bernard-HerrmannNational-Philharmonic-Orchestra-Music-From-Great-Shakespearean-Films/release/5753816 Looks like the Shakespeare one has never been re-released.
  13. This is 100% because Ken Adam didn't design a Moore Bond until The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker.
  14. Oh man, the wood paneling. Are those suede covers on the bar stools? I want to get wasted in this bar. I love that movie! Now, Britt and Maud are the only surviving members of the main cast
  15. Bernard Herrmann Great Film Music - Herrmann conducting the National Philharmonic Only recently discovering the series of albums that Herrmann recorded with Gerhardt's orchestra. Essential stuff!
  16. Wrong! Spidey 1 and 2 are still unequaled in the genre!
  17. I have no idea who Stephen Edwards is, but I'm loving Williams' hat game.
  18. Alfred Molina's Doc Ock is still the finest performance ever given in a comic book film.
  19. I find this statement by the interviewer utterly ludicrous: If anything, I found Franco's presence distracting.
