  1. If Williams loses 6 months with each score, we have 4 full years for SW as well.
  2. The scene with this "insect/jellyfish" ship and tthe theme playing are almost identical those of 2012. There is nothing new under the sun anyway I agree with you. It's just a way of saying how important these scores are to the career of these composers and to those who follow them.
  3. Now we know who composed the "BRAAAAMSS" For a minute I thought I was watching Man of Steel, but no!
  4. I believe that John Powell has gone through things considered more insulting than having to score a Star Wars movie and having to deal with John Williams composing a theme for one of the most iconic characters of the franchise for which he dedicated 40 years of his life.
  5. Apart from Gal Gadot, all I see is the Disney.
  6. I know. The harp that appears at the beginning of the theme of the Force. I always imagined as a leitmotiv for the characterization of Obi Wan as a mysterious wizard.
  7. Yeah! He did! I recognize a leitmotif for Obi Wan in the ANH, but a theme does not. I agree that it is difficult to imagine a theme for Obi Wan and not think straight away about the Force's Theme.
  8. Translation: I did not have the Episode IX, but that does not stop me from making some fun stuff for the next Indi movie. Sorry, Giacchino! I can not avoid this thought!
  9. Talking about money... Here’s the full list of 2017’s top 10 grossing actors: 1. Vin Diesel ($1.6 billion)2. Dwayne Johnson ($1.5 billion)3. Gal Gadot ($1.4 billion)4. Emma Watson ($1.3 billion)5. Johnny Depp ($1.1 billion)6. Daisy Ridley ($1.08 billion)7. Tom Holland ($888 million)8. Chris Pratt ($864 million)9. Chris Hemsworth ($845 million) http://variety.com/2017/biz/news/vin-diesel-2017-top-grossing-actor-1202649750/
  10. He is 85 years old and like any good old man he likes to read his interviews in newpapers and magazines that he kept on the shelf for when he wishes to remembers the old days.
  11. Yeah! Powell received the blessing of John Williams! I see this as a handsome gesture from Williams and something very special for Powell, to collaborate with the composer who made music from his childhood films. Giacchino has always been very happy to make small appearances in the films of the new trilogy. He can be a little jealous now. Hopefully that Williams will have the opportunity to do the main theme of Obi Wan in the future.
  12. The Phantom Menace was the first movie in the world to reach 1 billion in box office, correct?
  13. The Last Jedi, Justice League, Rise of the Guardians, Arthur's Christmas, Inside Out and Frozen. December with a lot of sweet things.
  14. He is like Morricone, refuses to work for the american cinema exclusively for money. Edit: I also would not do the score with Zimmer. I did not accepted when I had the opportunity to sign the work alone, now I will accept to share the cake? No way!
  15. And Elfman winning a few coins for each time the opening theme of the Simpsons is played in the series for 27 years. http://www.classicfm.com/composers/elfman/news/the-simpsons-tim-burton/ It was a joke. He referred to the affection that John Williams demonstrated by Daisy Ridley and her character in "The Force Awakens."
  16. Hamill is right to defend his point of view, but the people should care less about divisive reactions, especially with this kind of universe, reworked so many times. The reactions of the public are naturals. There are those who are being presented the franchise now, there are those who have known it with the prequels and veterans of the original trilogy. It's impossible to please everyone. And the new always finds resistance to be accepted because there is much material already made that can serve as a parameter for criticism.
  17. I only have two complaints to make about it: 1. Luke would never be a coward to the point of trying to kill Leia's son during the sleep (but he was). 2. Ren and Rey are reflections of the characters of the first two trilogies. Episode VII: Rey = Han Solo or Anakin (TPM) / Ren = Anakin (AoTC) Episode VII: Rey = Luke / Ren = Vader (TNH, ESB and RoJ) Episode IX: Rey = Leia (?) / Ren = Vader after of RoJ (without redemption) (?)
  18. The porgs. They only served to make Chewie think about consider a vegetarian diet.
  19. Does Luke understand the R2D2 language? I found it strange* the conversation between the two at the beginning of the movie. EDIT: Haha quick search and...
  20. I like C3PO in the original trilogy. I prefer him to R2D2, Lando or Chewbacca. He's a little different now. Looks a bit like the bicentennial man.
  21. It was the impression that he is floating in this scene. But can a problem with effects too, the green background. And there was no despair on Leia's part. Maybe she understood. The fact is that Luke really is now a legend. So many absurd stories will be passed from ear to ear to little children.
  22. I'll do it as soon as I can. Thanks for the suggestion.
  23. This is circuling. The girl reminds me the 2049 actress in this poster.
  24. The problem is that we have four narratives happening simultaneously, and three of them do not add anything to the rhythm of the movie. On the contrary, they tire the viewer. I spent the whole movie interested on how Rey would solve his situation with Luke. The whole story of the decoder could have settled more easily, all the escape of the rebels across space lost importance because it was treated secondarily. even Snoke's entire plan was subtended and only displayed openly at the end of the film. Not to mention our disappointments with Luke.
