  1. Since no one corrected me on this, I thought I'd do so publicly. DisneyConcerts announced the Star Wars Concert Series in February 2017, not April. All I had to do was read the date of the first post of this thread. Duh! That means that DisneyConcerts didn't stick with the same pattern by not announcing a new Star Wars L2P concert on that same time. However, I still have hope that they can surprise us between now and May the fourth.
  2. Something I noticed in the end credits from the Jurassic Park-L2P concerts. When Williams replaced his film version of the end credits with his public concert version, it was shorter the film version. In this YouTube except of the RAH performance of a JP-L2P concert, this concert version of the end credits ends at the 8:04 mark, but notice the credit-roll continuing. In later concerts, the film's end credits was altered--it had to be sped-up to match the duration of the replacement music cue. Here, at the 5:24 mark of this except from a later JP-L2P concert, the music ends right at the end of the “Amblin” logo clip.
  3. The end credits music cue for the L2P concert version of SW:TFA was, also, shorter than the film version. If one were to sync this L2P concert version of the end credit music cue to the theatrical version of the end credits, the L2P concert version would end before the film version would. This would mean that the end credits on the screen would speed-up—increase the duration—so that the music and the credits would end at the same time. This was done the same way for the end credits in the Jurassic Park L2P concerts where Williams replaced the music for the end-credit-film-version with his public concert version, which was shorter. In this YouTube except of the RAH performance of a JP-L2P concert, this concert version of the end credits ends at the 8:04 mark, but notice the credit-roll continuing. In the 5:24 mark of this except from a later JP-L2P concert, the music ends at the end of the “Amblin” logo clip. Getting back to SW:TFA-L2P concert, the Lucasfilm logo clip and the Bad Robot logo clip were not displayed after the end credits were finished when I saw this in DC.
  4. I attended the SW:TFA-L2P in Washington, DC last week. There was no chorus on the stage with the orchestra, but there were choir sounds coming out through the speakers-either from the film mix or from a digital keyboard.
  5. Has anyone here checked this out? Anyone know if a recording of this will be commercially available?
  6. Question: I went to the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra’s website and looked under the August calendar. No concerts posted for that month. https://www.sfsymphony.org/Buy-Tickets/Calendar.aspx#mo=2019:8 That’s because the SFSO’s summer 2019 schedule has not been announced, so, patrons can’t buy them. Yet, in Stubhub’s website, there are listings of these tickets to that show. How are these people getting these them?
  7. Thanks, @TownerFan, for that. This would explain why Mike M. was not responding to any queries about it when he was on the FSM forum two weeks ago commenting and answering questions about the LLL CD set. (Heck, when one poster said that the CD was announced for purchase on that person’s birthday, Mike M. wished that person a happy belated birthday.) I’m guessing that there have not been any developments to report on the LTP concert since he made that statement on your podcast @TownerFan, and I respect Mike M for that reasoning.
  8. Yes. http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?/topic/29271-new-arrangement-of-leaving-home-performed-at-the-oscars/
  9. A spoiler alert about this new podcast: At the 44:01 mark of the podcast, there is some discussion of a Live-to-Projection concert for Superman. On the podcast, Mike M said that it is “under discussion” and “those talks are continuing.” So, the long and the short of this subject is that a L2P concert is being considered. @TownerFan, when was the podcast recorded that Mike M made that statement?
  10. Some USA bookings for BTTF-L2P: San Antonio, TX May 3rd and 4th 2019 San Diego, CA July 20, 2019 (Click on "Special Concerts" Menu) As usual, Film Concerts Live did a f***'d-up job in keeping on top of updating their concert-booking postings. http://filmconcertslive.com/movies/back-to-the-future/
  11. I should lay the blame on only one concert production company, if this doesn't happen--Film Concerts Live. One of the owners of that company is The Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency, the management agency that represents John Williams.
  12. Now, in Cleveland, OH by the Cleveland Orchestra, August 23rd and 25th. http://www.clevelandorchestra.com/19-blossom--summer/19-summersseverance/sas-5-batman/?performanceNumber=17983 That's three concerts in the USA this year. Almost a year ago, San Francisco was the only place in the USA to go to catch it and I had to fly across the coast to attend.
  13. @Amer, may I ask you to give us a screenshot of that post with a time of when the post was made?
  14. You've got to love those New Year's Day hangovers😁
  15. Sure. This FSM member made this post on this thread back in mid-January: https://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=1&pageID=43&threadID=118900&archive=0 I’ve thought it over. The FSM poster is suggesting that the 3-CD set is already printed and in stock, now, because of the two things that MV said on January 1st. He said that he’ll be announcing dates on titles that he’s sure that are in stock and ready to ship, after he gave an estimated release-time of the 3-CD for “late Feb…early March.” That is pretty bold to publicly give a release time for nearly 2 months where somethings can go wrong during the days toward that release time-- printing/CD replicating/waiting for studio approval of artwork, etc. I think that MV would not have gave that release-date estimate for such a highly anticipated title unless all that stuff that would delay a CD release had past. If that is true, I’m thinking that he is holding-off the release of the album because he’s under orders from Warner Bros to do so. Perhaps, Warner Bros may make an announcement sometime in “late feb, early March” that would have something to do with “Superman-The Movie.” But what? Not a theatrical re-release because that was done in November. Not a home video release because that was done in November, also.
  16. The Live-to-Projection concert program of How to Train Your Dragon is getting a USA premiere: Houston Symphony Orchestra at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion,The Woodlands, TX, May 30, 2019
  17. Well, 2019 is the film's 30th anniversary and concert venue's are already showing some love: October 5 and 6, 2019 by The Oregon Symphony Orchestra July 2 and 3, 2020 by The Nashville Symphony Orchestra This year is The Matrix's 20th Anniversary. I hope orchestras will show some love for that in this year's concert season.
  18. Hey, @Max, how would you like to see your number 3 score be performed live by.... The National Symphony Orchestra this July 27 at Wolf Trap, Vienna, VA https://www.wolftrap.org/tickets/calendar/performance/19filene/0727show19.aspx
  19. It good to be in the East Coast: New York City, NY. September 11th and 12th at 7:30pm The New York Philharmonic Orchestra https://nyphil.org/concerts-tickets/1920/close-encounters-of-the-third-kind-in-concert
  20. I still have hope that a L2P Superman-The Movie concert will happen. Warner Bros or any concert production company can’t be that stupid to pass this up. Having said that: Assuming that this is true, I am wondering if whoever is buying up these sets is one group—a concert hall that may be doing the Superman L2P concert. Since they are purchased at the 50% discount, the venue can sell the “blue box” at a mark-up in the hopes that people buying them will be casual symphony concert goers who are just starting to enjoy these programs—not us nerds, here, who know better. 😁 I say that because I was at the Harry Potter…Chamber of Secrets concert in Rochester, NY, last month, and at the lobby of The Eastman Theater, they were selling the old Warner Sunset/Nonesuch/Atlantic soundtrack CD. I didn’t stop to look at the price.
  21. According to SAE, the "blue box" is gone: Yet, LLL's Superman CD didn't make to February's schedule. 😥
  22. First, Nick Redman is no longer with us, and now, this. I don't won't to think about where this may be heading.😥
  23. I did attend the Jurassic World concert back in May at the Kennedy Center in DC. I’m not really a die-hard Giacchino fan. The only score I really enjoyed listening to multiple times is Jupiter Ascending. I first heard the Jurassic World score on a downloaded audio file, but I’ve not seen the film yet. I didn’t like the score. I had just started going to these L2P concerts and I thought I’d check out Jurassic World in Concert because: I’ve still haven’t seen the film I thought maybe by hearing the score in a concert setting would change my opinion about the music. I still didn’t like the music, despite the fine performance by the National Symphony Orchestra, and the film wasn’t good, either. Oh, well. At least, I didn’t have to endure a second viewing of a film I didn’t like just to give the music a second chance. Things got a little interesting after the film. Both Giacchino and director Colin Trevorrow appeared on stage during the latter-half of the end credits to make jokes and answer questions. When the credits were over, we were treated to a screening of the first 7 and a half minutes of JW: Fallen Kingdom. As this movie was not released, at the time, we were instructed not to make any recordings of this preview. To make sure that this rule was enforced, a team of security guards, not ushers, were patrolling the aisle pathways—scrutinizing the patrons in each row in the theatre to make sure their cellphones and cameras were not positioned in their upper bodies recording the event. It got a little tense, and not because of the preview. After that, Giacchino and Trevorrow returned to the stage accompanied by conductor Emil De Cou and the paleontologist and had their Q & A. We had to endure one lame dinosaur joke. Q: What sound does a dinosaur make when it’s sleeping? A: A dino-snore After the Q & A, Giacchino took the time to sign autographs and pose for fan selfies for a few audience members. Although I still do not like most of the scores he has done, I think it was very cool of him to give his time to his fans in doing talks, autographs and pictures. It tells a lot about his character.
