  1. I don’t get it. The original digital OST program could definitely fit on a CD; it practically seemed designed to. It’s a couple minutes shorter than Horner’s original OST for the first film, and that obviously managed to fit on 1 CD. Maybe Franglen simply prefers the LP program? I doubt it, but who knows. The only things I will say I do like better about this program are (1) it includes “Kids in Peril,” one of my favorite tracks that didn’t make it onto the original digital OST, and (2) the credits song is moved to the end. It’s also weird that the CD listing (as far as I can see anyway) is currently absent from the US Amazon site. This whole CD release feels very strange, almost as if they don’t really want to let people know it’s even happening. You have to hunt Google just to find out any information about the release, and aside from the old Franglen Tweet which referenced the Film Music Reporter Tweet, the only information out there is random sites that are apparently selling it.
  2. More references to the CD only having 13 tracks... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Avatar-Way-Water-Simon-Franglen/dp/B0BNQL18K5 https://www.popmarket.com/simon-franglen-avatar-the-way-of-water/050087517274 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Simon-Franglen-Avatar-The-Way-Of-Water-CD/2697823089
  3. Plus, wouldn’t the 22-track version fit on a single CD…?
  4. These sites only mention a 13-track version… https://www.ccmusic.com/simon-franglen-avatar-the-way-of-water/050087517274 https://www.deepdiscount.com/simon-franglen-avatar-the-way-of-water/050087517274 Worth noting that DeepDiscount says it’s a “Limited Edition.” EDIT: Just realized this is the LP tracklist that has been discussed.
  5. Has anyone seen any more info about this release? Still not seeing the ability to pre-order at Amazon. Btw @Jay, that “Audio CD” option on the Amazon page for the soundtrack has been there since early this year, maybe even late last year. And I think I recall also seeing that Walmart page months ago, back when the CD was originally supposed to be coming out.
  6. Huh, interesting. So I’m guessing “made-to-order” = CD-R? EDIT: My iPhone’s translation of the various Tower pages actually states the following: ”It will be a backordered product. If it is confirmed that there is no prospect of arrival, or if there is no arrival after around 40 days after ordering, we will end the backorder arrangement and cancel this product.”
  7. Does anyone happen to have a higher quality (like at least 600x600) cover for Horner’s “Write Your Soul”? It was available on iTunes for a time, but the only picture of that cover that I can find is this much smaller version from Southall’s review: It was also physically released with a DVD, so if anyone has a high quality scan of the DVD cover, that would be much appreciated too!
  8. I was just looking at the individual Concord releases on Amazon like a month ago… Pretty sure it was this exact same TOD page. Scroll down and look at the year in the product details section: 2008. And the description says it’s the 2008 version, too. Also plenty of user reviews on that page already, because it’s an existing album page. And lastly, notice that it’s not actually listed as being sold by Amazon; it’s shipped by Amazon, but it’s sold by third-party sellers. For an official new release, it would say both Shipped and Sold by Amazon.com. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be anything new.
  9. Think that’s just the Concord release. That’s been on there a while.
  10. Anyone heard anything more about this? It should have been released in Japan by now, right?
  11. A 2-CD set of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show would be very illuminating, as far as composer credits go…
  12. Sorry, I meant to write 1984, not 1985. Discogs says 1984 for the West Germany version, 1985 for the Japanese one. But thanks! And I didn’t know that about CDs.
  13. Does anyone know when exactly the original West Germany pressing of Raiders on CD was released? The disc itself appears to just have 1981 on it, Discogs says 1985 1984, MusicBrainz says 1992, and SoundtrackCollector doesn’t even list a year… Which is correct?
  14. Does anyone think a CD release of this will still happen at some point?
  15. I really wish Intrada would start doing some Disney+ CD releases. It would be nice to get Williams’ Obi-Wan theme on CD, for instance.
  16. It’s one of my favorite Horner scores I’ve heard. The lullaby theme is gorgeous. I had the OST but just ordered this the other day. Can’t wait to get my hands on it!
  17. Please nobody kill me for this, but part of me actually wouldn’t mind if this was a reissue (preferably remastered, and preferably better than the 2018 SW OSTs) of the original albums. As someone who has owned the Concord set since it was released, but has never owned the originals, I think it would be cool to have them, and it would be nice to have them in jewel cases alongside the new Dial of Destiny on the shelf. ...But that’s just me.
  18. According to Discogs, it looks like in the US only the digipak version was made available. Jewel case for Europe and elsewhere.
