@Thor , I know that you have been looking for recording dates of the Johnny Ever Greens album (ABC-147) for a long time and it is also very interesting to me. That`s why I have been doing research for a while to gather more recording information. Actually, it seems to be promising! I still want to do some further validations and will let you know soon.
What I already can announce is that this album was not recorded on November 2, 1956 but before!

Junion got a reaction from Once in John Williams Discography
"Long ago (and far away)" is a song with music by Jerome Kern, and lyrics by Ira Gershwin from the 1944 film musical "Cover Girl". This song must have fascinated John Williams, as there exist different recordings with his involvement!
1. Recording at the Symphony Hall in Boston in December 1992; conducted by John Williams and released by the Boston Pops Orchestra on album "Unforgettable" (Sony Classical, SK 53380)
2. Recording for the album "The Johnny Williams Orchestra Plays Sound From Screen Spectaculars" (issued on Craftsmen C-8043 in 1957); reissued as "Big Hits From Columbia Pictures" (Tops L-1632; Golden Tone 9632S & Mayfair 9632S) and "Movie Memories" (Simitar/Pickwick, 1126-2 in 1996)
Another version of this song was recorded January 28, 1960. On that day John Williams took part in a recording session for the album "First Affair" with the popular American vocal quartet "The Four Freshmen". They have been very successful and nominated for a Grammy Award six times between 1958 and 1986.
Actually, John Williams played harpsichord on album track "Long Ago And Far Away" plus celeste on "I`ve Never Been In Love Before".
In this regard, here is a new collaboration album to be added to the JW discography.
Artist: The Four Freshmen
Album: First Affair Featuring John Williams (celeste & harpsichord) on tracks "I`ve Never Been In Love Before" & "Long Ago And Far Away"; Capitol; (S)T1378; Recorded at Capitol Tower Studios, Hollywood, January 26-28 & February 1, 1960; Released September 5, 1960; Reissued in 2000 & 2002

Thanks a lot for your feedback!
Indeed, the affordable album was part of the series "Two On One" (Two albums on one CD) by the Capitol Records label in association with EMI.

Junion reacted to Bespin in Your stories of how you met John Williams
I never went to a JW convention, my mastering of english language would make it an obstacle. And when I'm nervous I stutter!
Writing my idiosyncratic english is the best I can offer to this community... oh, and my discography, now well updated and very well by the prodigious @Junion!
I could never thank him too much, the project at the base, to publish that comprehensive discography, was to be a collaborative project. Alone, we are nothing.
I'm not a fan boy, I never asked a personnality for a signature, except two times in my life, for the same personnality, a character from my childhood.
It took me all my little change to find the courage to ask for a signature!!!

I have noticed that the Main Title Theme from the CBS-TV Network Show, "Gunslinger", is missing in the JW discography. This song as well as "Wanted Man" were performed by Frankie Laine, conducted by Johnny Williams and released as single in 1961. So, I have just added it.
Artist: Frankie Laine
Songs: "Gunslinger", "Wanted Man" Orchestra & Chorus conducted by Johnny Williams; Columbia No. 4-41974; Recorded 16 December 1960 & 3 February 1961; Released 20 March, 1961

"The President`s Own" was already added to Wikipedia in January and marked as the 148th album. Though, it was missing on the goplanete website.
Therefore, I have added both albums to http://www.goplanete.com/johnwilliams/music/disco/albums.htm and only "The Eiger Sanction film score recording" to Wiki.
Here is your comment posted in January this year

Yes, it is listed in section "Arrangements & Orchestrations" (http://www.goplanete.com/johnwilliams/arranger/index.htm). Since John Williams was not only a co-arranger but also played piano I will add it to the "Album" section as well.

Thanks a lot for your credits @Bespin. I‘m delighted to contribute to this unique discography as it illustrates the incredible works of John Williams as conductor, orchestrator, pianist etc. in more than 60 years. There might be other discographies of him but this one is made with passion and the requirement to provide detailed and correct information. It’s quite a lot of time to keep the website updated but it’s worth for all fans who would like to have an overview of the releases since 1956.
In this regard, after my holidays I will let you know another undiscovered album with artist John Williams. Stay tuned...

It`s a new month and I think it`s time for a new finding! As you know, in the beginning of his career, John Williams played as pianist with Russel Garcia and his orchestra. Two albums are already well-known,
The Johnny Ever Green`s by Russel Garcia and Listen To The Music of Russel Garcia Well, in February 1958, John Williams was another time part of an all-star orchestra arranged and conducted by Russel Garcia. The album is called "Come Swing with Me" by artist Tony Travis. Interesting fact, Tony Travis was not only a singer but also an actor in the 1950s and 60s. He appeared on several TV shows, one of them was "M Squad".
Artist: Tony Travis
Album: Come Swing with Me Featuring Johnny Williams (piano & celeste); Verve Records MGV-2100 Recorded at Radio Recorders, Los Angeles, February 5, 11 and 18, 1958 Released in 1958 Reissued in 2020, Fresh Sound Records

Junion got a reaction from Yavar Moradi in Recording date for THE JOHNNY EVER GREENS (Russell Garcia)?
I have also checked specific recording dates for "The Johnny Ever Green`s" without success. Nevertheless, I would like to share an interesting album review published in the Billboard magazine on December 22, 1956. So we can be sure that this album was already released in 1956 and not 1958.
