  1. No wayyyy. I’ve been refreshing every day hoping a front row opens up. 😭
  2. The only problem with walking after is that while there is a sidewalk, I don’t recall any streetlights, so you’re essentially walking in the dark besides the cars passing by on the street.
  3. Little recap of the concert as a whole: And they’ve uploaded official photos here: https://www.facebook.com/100044344843371/posts/pfbid0SgpGm5q26eherFQ3pn2XWKCk7o9U9mMUfxUyAKJC75tjn57ZdTmQB77KtqkXqxFyl/?mibextid=K8Wfd2
  4. I’m definitely going, but still figuring out how to not be stranded after. lol
  5. I know they already did “Luke and Leia” on the first album, but it really wasn’t all that different from the original concert arrangement. I’d love a version that’s more in the style/mood of the theme’s big statement in The Last Jedi that felt older, a bit more tragic, but arguably even more beautiful than Return of the Jedi’s.
  6. I didn’t. Had no idea it was limited. I just ordered the vinyl now since now I’m nervous about how limited that is. Quite bummed to have missed the CD, though.
  7. A short official upload recapping the Honorary Marine ceremony and a bit of the Throne Room-End Credits has been posted! I can see myself in a few shots, haha. xD

  9. What a wonderful afternoon! Williams conducted the second half and was in great spirits. Encores were 1941 and Imperial March. The physical program was beautiful, and they were also giving out copies of the CD posted a couple posts above this one that had matching cover art to the program. I was lucky enough to be given a ticket in the front row and so once again had some great little interactions with the Maestro from the podium. As I mentioned in a main thread about the occasion, Williams was also honored with the title of Honorary Marine! Looking forward to Tanglewood in a couple weeks! My pics (please credit if reposted anywhere!):
  10. Just happened at today’s concert in between the two encores (1941 and Imperial March). Was a really touching moment that I don’t think the Maestro was expecting. I’m sure a recording will be released! EDIT: Official footage/recap:
  11. Got here at 8AM and was first, two guys showed up 30 mins after me, followed by a family of four a bit after them (the family is looking for two extra tickets if anyone here has any). So excited!
  12. It’s ok, even that’s helpful. I guess include me too if it’s not too late!
  13. What would the total be for shipping to the US (NYC)?
  14. Unlikely question - is anyone traveling to this from Boston, or even NYC? I’m coming from NYC, and getting to Tanglewood during the day is fine, but I’m trying to figure out what to do after the concert without a car (or even license lol). Hotels in the area are ridiculously expensive. If I could carpool with someone after, I’d happily chip in for gas!
  15. Randomly deciding to bump this thread after over a decade, since film scores have only gotten more eclectic over the years and I feel like there’s a lot more discussion about these kinds of fusions to be had!
  16. Wow, Anakin’s Theme?? Wonder how that got decided on. Don’t know when Williams last conducted that one, I’ve sure never seen him do it. How exciting!! And cool to see Asteroid Field return, too.
  17. Reservations are open! https://www.kennedy-center.org/whats-on/explore-by-genre/classical-music/2022-2023/john-williams-and-the-presidents-own/
  18. A lot of seats at the back of the shed are now available.
  19. I’ve admittedly never seen the film, but the theme has become one of my favorites through Williams’ concerts, where it’s been performed often over the years. It’s just so beautiful. Does the whole score feature the theme rather prominently?
  20. What a night! I was front row furthest to the left, which unexpectedly meant that when Williams left his seat to take the stage, he walked right past me! We locked eyes a couple times as he came and went from the stage. You can see him walk past me in the fourth slide of this post : https://www.instagram.com/p/Cre691GO90G/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= The music was lovely as ever, the live-to-picture parts being especially fun and the pieces conducted by the Maestro himself the ultimate highlights of the evening. And it was indeed strange seeing him without his glasses! lol. I also don’t think Williams actually said a word to the audience. Here are some pics!
  21. I had over 9,750 entries and didn’t win, so I think it was indeed a random drawing. Definitely bummed, but there were over a million entries by people so the odds weren’t good anyway!
  22. https://www.carnegiehall.org/Calendar/2024/02/22/An-Evening-with-John-Williams-and-Yo-Yo-Ma-0700PM Just a couple days after what’s likely the same concert program in Philadelphia.
  23. Lovely conversation so far. Nothing new, just lots of mutual praise between Williams and Spielberg, but nice to see them all the same. This was indeed filmed in California at Spielberg’s Amblin offices. The first half of the episode was with only Spielberg, then the Williams segment started. Colbert just said there isn’t enough time in the episode to air everything, so there’ll be more of the interview with both of them aired next week.
