  1. The expanded TESB sound quality is a quite a dissapointment. It's too bright. Too much treble. Do the test! They wanted to revitalize the sound by exiting the treble spectrum, but they spilled the bucket and overused their applied effect. Luckily, I have the regular version. Too bad it offers less music. I wich a had the LP version. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  2. And that movie was based on a short story by Asimov (though I never checked the credits but I don't have to). It's one of those movies I will try to avoid forever. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  3. George Lucas grew up. Have you? Would you care to explain your last remark. It seems to make little sense as it is now. Did you find back the old AI? Good. I was getting bored. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  4. The color yellow is better in the unaltered version. In fact, the yellow text in revised version looks terrible. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  5. Which Fury? Regular or deluxe? ---------------- Alex Cremers
  6. Damn, you remembered! Okay, so he's not a coward, but he LOOKS like the Lion. Surely, George made a few tiny changes so he would stay out of trouble with the law (copyright). ---------------- Alex Cremers
  7. Shoot the characters from Wizard of Oz into space and what do you get? Right! Star Wars. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  8. Nothing, but some people get nervous when the menu has changed. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  9. Hey, I never thought there was such a thing as THX humor! ---------------- Alex Cremers
  10. It's all about getting into the "system". You would be surprised how easy it is to technically make a movie, once you're in the system. You say: "Take a digital camera and do it yourself". Well, that would be the same as saying: "I'm going to record Shostakovich's Sympony N°.5 AND play all the instruments of the orchestra myself, plus I'll do the recording and mixing. Luckily, you don't have to play all those different instruments, the orchestra is part of another "system". You don't need to operate a camera, light the sets, cut and edit the film, compose the soundtrack, create the special effects, and so on, and so on. The people who work for the system will do that for you and they're all specialists in their field. Actually, to shoot a scene, you don't have to be on the set! What matters is communicating with those people, directing or conducting them in such a way, that in the end, your vision is manifesting. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  11. Yeah, THX provoked those nice police robots first. They had all the right to go after him. I hope the "government" finds a sponsor with enough funds, so they can go all the way up that shaft to the surface and nail the bastard! ---------------- Alex Cremers
  12. A lesson in Star Wars for Lucas Yeah, Solo was a mean baaaddd guy, who only thought of himself. Saving his own butt was all he cared about. Except for himself and the Wookie he had no friends. This is KEY here! He had no human friends. Then he met with this young Skywalker fellow and a princess. They had strong ideals and wanted to save the universe. But Han had to split. No way he was going to risk his life for their stupid goals! But then Han dropped his emotional shield and thought, instead of running I could do something good and help my...friends. And he did. The rest is history. In the beginning of Star Wars the old Han Solo would definitely have shot Greedo first. Lucas wants to deny the Old Han Solo, like he never existed. He would have to change the whole movie. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  13. Yes, all of them, too macho. That radio movie? Way too macho! Impressive movies? Sure, but he handles delicate and serious subjects much too...macho-like. I don't know, if you can't feel it, then... you just can't feel it. If Kevin (who BTW is not a better actor than Leonardo) had a emotional weak moment in JFK, Stone couldn't handle it. His macho-ness stood in the way of being a good director. Those scenes are amazingly of lower standard compared with the rest of the movie. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  14. Stone's films are missing a few ingredients to be called ace. They're too macho! ---------------- Alex Cremers
  15. Absolutely Luke, him and Spielberg changed popular cinema altogether. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  16. I completely with you on this one. It all looked good (if you like that sort of photography) but Jude was the only interesting thing in it. ------------------ Alex Cremers
  17. Cruise is pretty good. Hopkins too, of course, but I don't always like his choice of characters lately. I especially liked him for his surpressed roles in Howard's End and The Remains of The Day. He's very able to do that type of characters. In case of Hopkins, less is more! ----------------- Alex Cremers
  18. I don't think he's actually changing something. He keeps adding footage, sure, but he's not changing history like Lucas. Hey, on the other hand, I wouldn't mind if Lucas suddenly would say, in 1977 I had to cut 30 minutes of terrifying and scary scenes because kids were having nightmares. I had to do it, it's a family movie. But now I don't mind so much, I'm putting it all back in! You think you've seen Star Wars? Nobody has seen Star Wars!!!! Bring it on! ----------------- Alex Cremers
  19. I think it's time to clean that TV screen of yours. OK, he looked good but to say he looked REAL? Not yet, my friend, not yet. ----------------- Alex Cremers

    Star Wars

Say Morn, how do you know?
  21. A little experiment. Why don't we remove Neil from his pedestal for a moment and put the "Lord" in charge... Just like in Bruce Almighty. Hey, maybe it turns out to be a complete fiasco but at least we'll know if Neil stands for supreme rulership or not. What do you say, guys, who's all for it? Did I hear a yeaaahhh over there? Oh, Lord, it's you. Nope, sorry Lord, your voice don't count. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  22. Lord, I agree with you. A moderator should have indeed all of these qualities. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  23. I'm all for it, you know, a special LOTR thread. But the banning sanction sounds more like Irak than America to me. ----------------- Alex Cremers
