  1. Wow I didn't expect to have such a different opinion from you.
  2. An adaptation of Morrison's All Star Superman run would be ideal but I doubt they'll go for it.
  3. No it's like the clips. I just thought it'd be more grandiose (like Sleepy Hollow). There's certainly moments where it does, but it's not in every track. I was also surprised he didn't use more chorus, which I'm happy with.
  4. The Wolfman It's not in the old gothic style that I thought it would be in, but I'm liking it. The theme's great and I like the little gypsy-ish moments in the score. A lot better than Wanted.
  5. It says it's released Feb 23 but the score is available on iTunes. also Johnston talks about Elfman at comingsoon.net
  6. New Zealand is certainly an intruiging place. Various terrains and climates mean potential for growing all manner of crops, and the lifestyle is often quite laid back and friendly outside of major citys. Economy wise,so so. From my observation, certain areas of the North Island have more run down areas of unemployement than the South Island which is a different world in terms of culture / lifestyle than the north island. I could certainly imagine myself living there (particularly the South Island). If there was a way of getting residency there that was fully legitimate, I'd pack my bags and say bye bye to Britain. But understandably they're tough on who they let in. Unless you posess skills that they don't currently have, getting residency isn't an easy affair. On a land mass of a similar size to Britain, there are about 57 million 'less' people over both of NZ's islands than there are in Britain and that in itself brings a whole new meaning to "breathing room". NZ is worth dishing out the flight cash for if you're going to visit for several months minimum. If you really want to go there, you will. I lived in Wellington for a little over a year and it was probably the best year of my life. Loved the people, their culture and their lad back-ness. Unemployment is probably more rampant on the North Island, but 3/4 of the population live there so that's expected. As for residency, unless you're young or have a particular skill they need, as you said, it is notoriously difficult.
  7. I don't think it was Best Score material for that year, but I've liked Michael Clayton's music a lot more as time goes on.
  8. Tintin was bogged down in funding issues for a long time
  9. Because he is totally in control of that, right? Not to take into account actor/crew availability, script rewrites, studio politics, or even funding.
  10. Did not expect Hurt Locker to be put in Best Music. A Single Man was what I would've thought would be in its place.
  11. Ending aside, I enjoyed the movie. at least more than Daybreakers
  12. Well, almost. Now release season 5 already! Where have you been? We're in dire need of level-headed people here
  13. Nice clips! You didn't hear it in the first clip?
  14. David Koepp is still adapting Pirate Latitudes
  15. Link If true, I'd be very interested in the Williams score.
  16. It's subdued and brooding with maybe two themes at the most(?). It made me think of Panic Room and A History of Violence, but I liked it and it fits the film.
  17. Edge of Darkness Great. A really nice throwback to the old conspiracy thrillers, and probably my favorite script to come out of Monahan (who is quickly becoming my favorite screenwriter). Gibson's still got it and Winstone's role is very compelling. No major complaints aside from
  18. I bought the album too, and it hasn't made too much of an impression on me. Sounds very much like The Village.
  19. Is there a set criteria for you whether a movie should be 3D or not? Not at all. But the hype behind the film led me to believe that this movie should be seen in 3-D for the full effect, if you will. But I saw no real benefit or necessity from the process that made me think this movie absolutely has to be seen in 3-D, hence my pondering. It's not required but I think I got more out of it.
  20. Soderbergh's Solaris. I really enjoyed it. Having not seen the original, I'm going against the prevailing opinions so I'll make plans to see it soon.
