tpigeon 3
I haven't done one of these fluffy polls in a long time. So I figured I'd emulate Roald.... Which cue entitled Learning the Ropes do you prefer, and why? Replying with your choice is not enough. Elaborate.Ted
Sandor 799
So I figured I'd emulate Roald.... I voted for CMIYC, because it has a more inventive character and I feel the score is a bit underrated (although praised by Leonard Maltin among others). Luke Skywalker 1,810
Im' lazy but since the topic is here. What are the ropes (in this case)?Luke, learning [a new meaning of] the ropes.
Morlock 11
Definately the second one. I never listen to The Cowboys album, only to the suite, making any specific track irrelevant in my eyes. And unlike most of Roald's likewise polls, the second track is actually a major set-piece of the score, and it's a wonderful set-piece for a wonderful score. Sandor 799
And unlike most of Roald's likewise pollsYou must mistake me for someone else now. I hardly ever created any polls! Check the board history records.
Ray Barnsbury 8
The track from The Cowboys, like the entire score, has such unbridled, infectious enthusiasm. But the track from CMIYC, like Morlock said, is a set piece of the score and functions and builds in a really interesting and satisfying way. I've always thought of it as a highlight of the score, whereas the first is really just another incidental (albeit terrific) track, indistinguishable from the rest of the score. So I choose the latter.Ray Barnsbury

nicholas 1
This poll has made me wonder: who chooses the titles for tracks on a soundtrack album? Do you think the maestro himself has any say?
Hitch 58
Probably not. Although he has been known to churn out better music than he is at track titles.
David Vincent 8
This poll has made me wonder: who chooses the titles for tracks on a soundtrack album? Do you think the maestro himself has any say?If you are lucky enough to have a look at the original sheets of a soundtrack, you will see usuallt the title is not the same.
