Oh, I'm crazy? Those ******' hobbit movies were boring as hell. All it was, was a bunch of people walking, three movies of people walking to a ******* volcano.

What would you have me do? Call the Academy?

Where were Oscars when Brokeback Mountain beat Memoirs of a Geisha? Where were the Oscars Santalola cloased in around us? Where were--*sigh*. No, my Lord Morlock. We are quite alone.

[laughing] I made fun of "Lord of the Rings" so hard, it made some supergeek puke all over the counter. Where do we keep the mop and bucket so I can make Elias clean it up?

All right, look, there's only one "Return," okay, and it ain't "of the King," it's "of the Jedi."

The Return of the King was published on October 20, 1955, but was certainly first conceived in print form long before in John Ronald Ruel's letters to Christopher.

Return of the Jedi was released in theaters on May 25, 1983. It was to be called "Revenge of the Jedi" until a few weeks before release, when Lucas realized that Jedi do not take revenge.

Now I'm not that good with math, but I coulda swore that 1955 predates 1983 by a generation. And whatever comes first trumps anything that follows with respect to being "the" definitive anything.

Calm down dude, they were just quoting Clerks II.

Queen of Light took her bow

And then she turned to go,

The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom

And walked the night alone.

Oh, dance in the dark of night,

Sing to the morn-ing light.

The dark Lord rides in force tonight

And time will tell us all.

Oh, throw down your plow and hoe,

Rest not to lock your homes.

Side by side we wait the might

Of the darkest of them all.

I hear the horses' thunder

Down in the valley below,

I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon,

Waiting for the eastern glow.

The apples of the valley hold

The seeds of happiness,

The ground is rich from tender care,

Repay, do not forget, no, no.

Oh, dance in the dark of night,

Sing to the morning light.

The apples turn to brown and black,

The tyrant's face is red.

Oh the war is common cry,

Pick up you swords and fly.

The sky is filled with good and bad

That mortals never know.

Oh, well, the night is long

The beads of time pass slow,

Tired eyes on the sunrise,

Waiting for the eastern glow.

The pain of war cannot exceed

The woe of aftermath,

The drums will shake the castle wall,

The ringwraiths ride in black,

Ride on.

Sing as you raise your bow,

Shoot straighter than before.

No comfort has the fire at night

That lights the face so cold.

Oh dance in the dark of night,

Sing to the mornin' light.

The magic runes are writ in gold

To bring the balance back.

Bring it back.

At last the sun is shining,

The clouds of blue roll by,

With flames from the dragon of darkness

The sunlight blinds his eyes.

everything dies, baby, that's a fact / maybe everything that dies someday comes back

I was just listening to that song for the first time in ages when I first saw this post. Downright scary.

I don't know why that line popped into my head, but it inspired me to start listening to his Live / 1975-85, even though Atlantic City's not on it. I wanna see if I can get through the triple-live in one sitting. Currently at Backstreets.
