Williamsfan301 11
Why does Indiana Jones wear glasses? There never seems to be any rhyme or reason as to when or why he has them in the moviesThoughts?
Quintus 5,399
Does there need to be a reason?
Williamsfan301 11
Well, as one who's vision is less than stellar, yes!
paleo 63
Don't forget that even in ToD Indy is already 36 years old or so; that's about the time when your lenses become more rigid and you cannot focus on nearby objects that well any more. The glasses are surely for reading (although Indy also probably thinks he looks more intelligent wearing them )

Luke Skywalker 1,796
Well,he has to read stuff while adventuring too.i was just explaining why he used them at class when he mostly is watching the students that are far away, and not books or inscriptions on the rocks. jasonblueeyes 0
He really shouldn't wear glasses while adventuring...the glass could shatter and blind him. Imagine after a life of globe-trotting and narrow escapes, the one thing that does Indy in is a stray piece of eyeglass.
Charlie Brigden 7
He needs glasses to focus his laser-eye vision discovered after being exposed to radiation after surviving a nuclear explosion in a circa 1950s refridgerator.

nightscape94 965
In terms of cinema, they probably have him wearing glasses to give him a different appearance than his adventurer counter part, apart from the clothing. I doubt that they serve any real thought-out function.
