A24 4,356
Please, don't tell me it's the third Potter movie, I'm not waiting for that one. And if it is, well damn, that's another 5 or 6 months. In the meantime, this forum is going to dry up.----------------Alex Cremers
genkiguy 0
arh sorry to break this to you, but the 3rd Harry Potter movie is actually 1 year away....as to movie assignments before then, Speilberg has a few movies slated (not sure if thats been confirmed, and I don't know of any release date) But take heart, he said in his interview that there is ALWAYS a writing assignment on his desk, so be it movies or concert works, teh man is always composing, so rest assured in a few years your Williams collection will be bigger!! Yoda Longbottom 0
(I'm not supposed to be here by now, but I missed my train home so I'm here. Too uninteresting to clue you in...)Well, isn't his next work Horn Concerti? For movie or not, as long as Williams writes it, I'm eager to hear it. Not a movie work? Even better! It'll be purely Williams' then! French Horns do seem to crank up the best in him,...!
A24 4,356
I hope "The Horn Concerto" is going to be on "Sony" together with other comtemporary Williams stuff. Maybe the true gem of the album is going to be some bonus track. Who knows.----------------Alex Cremers
Ray Barnsbury 8
I'm actually really looking forward to the Horn Concerto. I picked up horn a couple months ago after playing trumpet for seven years, and I love it. My parents bought me a very nice new horn for graduation yesterday, and I'll be playing it in college this fall, so it'll be cool to hear this horn piece for me.Ray Barnsbury
Magnus 0
Well, this list could always be discussed:Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) (announced) Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The (2005) (announced) Star Wars: Episode III (2005) (pre-production) Terminal (2004) (pre-production) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) (filming)Indiana Jones 4 (2005) (courtesy of IMDB.com)Terminal and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty are both Spielberg projects coming up and I guess I don't have to explain the other titles. Trumpeteer 302
So, Alex, you're feeling empty without anticipation of a Williams film score this year? Take the time to revisit your Williams CD collection. I bet there are a lot of gems in there that you forgot about. For me, I've given "Chamber of Secrets' another listen. The original music isn't that bad, though I'm always cynical about score adaptations in sequels. But I can never keep "Minority Report" out of my car stereo for very long!Jeff -- who is getting by just fine during this Williams dry spell

I rather forget the new releases when forced to make a choice. The Williams topics-well being dried up was just a feeling I was having. Of course, there's always the good old stuff.Twenty years from now, you could possibly fall into a cognate nostalgia about John Williams's scores that are "contemporary" today. Back then, who would have dared prophesy that scores to "Stanley & Iris", "Dracula" or "Earthquake" will receive any playing time after approx. 20 years since they had been to be forgotten already? WilliamsFan 0
Don't forget the theme for the new Disney Hall in LA. That piece could be as good as any main theme from a soundtrack.

I want to see Williams do something he hasn't done before rather than another Potter movie.IS THIS MAN DOING ANYTHIN IN 2003?? I'm still hoping. When was that Oliver Stone Alexander movie coming out?
