TheRuleOfThirds 0
If you ask me, a "film" is more of a piece of art that is well-crafted and betters humanity. A "movie" is just fluff that you watch while you enjoy instant gratification and eating popcorn.

Could be wrong, but that's what I noticed here, by English and American members.Oh, I voted for "NO".
TheRuleOfThirds 0
Really, it all matters which kind of people you hear using the terms. Can you hear Cletus (the Slack-Jawed Yokel) saying, "Hey...let's go wotch a movie tonight!" or.... "Hey! Let's go see a film this evenin'!" A film's got the kind of class that's sublime to people in our society like our friend Cletus.
fommes 153
There's a difference in connotation, not denotation:a "film" is more of a piece of art that is well-crafted and betters humanity. A "movie" is just fluff that you watch while you enjoy instant gratification and eating popcorn.
JoeinAR 1,949
They are one and the same, unless you are talking about AOTC or Rots, or Deep Water? which are not films at all but digiatizations.
Morlock 11
They are one and the same Yes. Some people like to separate what they like and don't like by these definitions, but a movie is a film and vice vera. You can have a marvelous movie and piece of crap film.
