  1. I finally listened to disc 3 of this set the other day and really enjoyed it. Mike's restoration work on both the playback demos (supposedly sourced from casette tape!) and the SFX film cues was exemplary. Still, we live in hope the complete scoring tapes might show up one day, maybe when the studio digs out the rest of the film elements for a restoration. And today I wake up to the news that director Norman Jewison passed away overnight, aged 97. He had quite the career! Rest in peace.
  2. Yeah I see no reason why they'd include those pop songs on a new remaster, seeing as Always didn't retain them. The bootleg (JW music only) is 77:50 which is perfect for a 1CD album, unless there's a bunch of extra stuff recorded that didn't leak in the bootleg. It does include 8 "alternates" but I'm not sure if they're actually alternates or just slightly different takes. It's amazing that only 25 minutes of JW music was included; must be the shortest of any JW OST?
  3. Eight minutes of tracking is relatively restrained in a post-TROS world.
  4. This. These things are often dictated in contracts, right down to the percentage of real estate an actor's image must feature, or the font size of their name on the cover. Both The Patriot and BOT4J OST covers are similar in this respect, with a tight shot of the lead actor's face and their name prominently featured above the title. Fortunately LLL clearly have a good working relationship with both Cruise and Gibson, considering what's been released over the years. The Braveheart cover tastefully retained Mel Gibson's name, and he provided a generous interview for that release... but Patriot will end up at Intrada anyway.
  5. If Intrada do it, probably not. If LLL do it, they'll surely do new artwork. I don't think they've done a single JW expansion that reused the OST cover.
  6. Considering WB seem to be closed to working with the labels now, we won't be seeing JFK anytime soon. But I see no reason Intrada can't tackle Nixon (even if Disney take forever to approve things) or LLL BOT4J, but they'll probably need Cruise's approval for the artwork and he's a busy man.
  7. Saw this on Intrada's Facebook page, I guess take it with a grain of salt. Who knows what's happened in 5 years though... I thought Universal scores were relatively straightforward expansions, and BOT4J is the last outstanding JW MCA OST to be expanded. July 4th 2024 would be a perfect release date though, being July in the film's 35th anniversary.
  8. I played an hour of that hoping for something on the level of Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2... and never picked it up again. Something about it bored me, and I normally love those Mario games!
  9. It does seem hard to believe unless the AFM themselves don't understand their own agreement. Unless I'm reading this wrong, that specifies usage of previously recorded music in a theatrical motion picture, which would surely fall under a different category to a commercial soundtrack release. And it also seems to refer to music recorded under previous agreements, not the current one (where the problematic fees supposedly apply).
  10. So much this. Maybe I'm choosing the wrong games but it's been a long time since I played a new game that was actually fun to play. So much of modern gameplay mechanics is a tedious chore.
  11. Interesting, I stand corrected! Seemed unusual to me but I guess modern games are a lot more time-consuming to develop.
  12. New developers getting involved in the game's production... Maybe I'm behind the times on how modern video games are developed but having 4 studios co-developing one title seems... weird. One could assume MachineGames were in over their heads, or management weren't happy with their progress. In other news, eagle-eyed fans discovered Lucasfilm has apparently registered multiple trademarks and domains for “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” (potentially the game’s title?)
  13. It's nuts, yeah. Momoa was the only redeeming factor of that otherwise wretched movie. Must have hurt Diesel's gigantic ego that Momoa got all the attention.
  14. Would've been curious to see what piece he'd choose to represent Horner. He included Titanic in the Oscars film music tribute all those years ago (didn't he curate and arrange that medley?) Nothing from Steiner, Mancini or Barry either. GWTW, Moon River and Out of Africa (or something from Bond) would've been fine additions. Guess you can't include everything...
  15. Given how well the Arnold scores sold, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't get around to both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace at some point too. Both have unreleased music and Arnold seems very supportive and happy to assist.
  16. Believe me, I wish it was real as much as you.
  17. Memoirs of a Geisha: Expanded Edition
  18. It's the little details that matter...
  19. When are you going to start doing more custom artwork @Holko? Big fan of your Sleepy Hollow cover, certainly moreso than the official artwork.
  20. Can't wait to see them all! The Indy films are such an embarrassment of riches when it comes to key artwork.
  21. This looks really cool! But as @Steffromuk suggested, maybe the map could be repositioned so you can see the location in the background? Would be cool if that map reflected the major location Indy visits in the film. Are you planning to do covers for all 5 films in the same style? The map could change each time (India, Peru, Sicily, etc).
  22. I'm late to the party but this decision seems really illogical. Let's scrap multi-platform development so we can rush the game out faster and start making sales .... by releasing it exclusively on a console that sold half as many units as the other. Presumably it will still be released on PC though, so not a huge problem I guess.
