  1. She was great in the role. I’m sad to see her go.
  2. The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window OMG, how bad is this? I get it (I think) - any show with a title like that it’s not meant to be taken seriously, but at the same time they play it too straight through the entire thing, so it’s not a spoof either. Whatever they were going for, they missed the mark by a mile. It’s not funny. It doesn’t feel sarcastic. It’s not scary. It’s just stupid. I think they wrote and recorded this in all earnestness - to be a serious show - but someone at the top realized that the end result just didn’t hold up so marketing stepped in in the last minute to try to “save” it - hence the title. Maybe the “funny” title was a last minute decision to try to get viewers to lower their expectations, but it doesn’t rhyme with the content of the show.
  3. The original sunset poster for Jaws 2 is freakin’ gorgeous.
  4. Not the original art, but do you remember when they did a dark version of the Jaws poster for the 30th anniversary DVD? I just found a dark version of Jaws 2 on a “Hong Kong version”. Never seen that one before.
  5. If they redo the cover… the work Titus did on creating the LLL cover is fantastic, it captures the mood and plot of the film spectacularl. I couldn’t believe it was an assembly of old and new material, the art direction and layout is just beyond amazing. Sometimes I google the thing and just look at it, immediately whisked away into dreams of my childhood.
  6. So many great tracks already mentioned, but I alway enjoy Children’s Suite for Orchestra - Although never intended to be included in the movie, these arrangements are precious. The E.T. Adventure - It doesn’t really have the same character as the film soundtrack but I do think this is a historical and important piece.
  7. ParamountPlus should change their name to StarTrekPlus and just be done with it.
  8. No doubt the more obscure selections would sell to their niche audience, but I’m not convinced they would sell as well as a better known brand (ie the “blockbusters”), with actors and directors that are still relevant. Its hard to imagine otherwise. I can see Angela’s Ashes as a serious contender for an expansion as well. The movie might not be as well known today (as aforementioned “blockbusters”), but if I were to market such a release, I’d push it as a “companion to Schindler’s List, a continuation of his mature and emotional writing… yada yada yada.”
  9. But TBH I think it is more likely that we get one of the more recent “blockbusters”, Nixon, JFK, The Patriot, Lincoln or maybe even The BFG. If they can get the rights and clear all legal hurdles, that is (which I guess becomes more complicated the more recent the movie). It seems to me that a larger part of the soundtrack community would be more willing to part with their money for these kind of movies rather than for some obscure films from the 60s and 70s (and yes, I know Yes, Giorgio! is from ‘82, but youknowwhatimean).
  10. Any of these, please: The Reivers Scent Of A Woman Cinderella Liberty Yes, Giorgio
  11. I did buy the OST back in the 90s, the 20th anniversary when it was released, and the 2016 box - but remind me again - which edits are unique to the 20th ann. release?
  12. I think Tom Hanks is a fine actor, but I’ve not enjoyed him in a movie for a long time - to no fault of his own, though. I recognize the problem is mine (“it’s not you, it’s me”) but he comes across as such Hollywood royalty at this point, a prop piece who is chosen to be in a movie to give it an air of legitimacy - rather than that he was actually the best choice for the role (or so it seems to me at least) - that I get tired just seeing his name on a poster.
  13. I think no matter which platform is used - IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Letterboxed - it’s good to have a general measurement. And it’s fun to know what the general public thinks and to compare things. But, as you say, without the personal dimension it’s all a bit arbitrary and superficial. So I read the user reviews and then proceed with caution… I personally don’t trust anything below a 7 and even then I might not end up liking it. But it goes both ways. More often than not, I find the rating on any of the mentioned sites to be wildly inaccurate, for better or for worse. For example, I thought The Falcon And The Winter Soldier was a bit of a bore. Maybe not bad, but I would think that a 5-6 something rating might be fair. It’s currently at 7.2 on IMDB. Respectively, I very much enjoyed the movie Interceptor, and I’d think - again - that a rating between 5-6 would be fair. I thought that it was a package of ridiculous fun, but apparently not everyone shared my enjoyment. It’s currently at 4.5 on IMDB. But really, is this any different than JWFaners who don’t enjoy the scores for Hook or LOTR? No, of course not. We’re only human.
  14. It seems that JP isn’t part of the “at least five” roster, so if you thought there were only two to go (counting Space Camp and Presumed Innocent) there are actually three.
  15. This seems to have both ‘hate bombed’ and ‘love bombed’ on IMDB. It’s currently at 6.2, which I guess in IMDB terms means that it is “average” - which in reality means that (depending on your preferences) it is anywhere between “bad” and “good”. But regarding review bombing, when people want to “tilt” the current score, by giving it a much higher or much lower score than it actually deserves or what they actually think… in a “dealing out social justice kind of way” (?). “You think it’s underrated at 6.2 and that it should be at minimum 8? Give it a 10!” “You think it’s overrated at 6,2 and that it should be maximum 4? Give it a 1!” Funny thing is, for Ms. Marvel, there seems to be as many positive exaggerators as negative exaggerators… making each exaggeration balance it self out as well. LOL.
  16. 😂 Well, at least he coined the expression “reach escape velocity”, which is something I will forever try to work into any conversation I have.
  17. JW’s notes for Adventures On Earth - generally considered to be one of his most exciting pieces of music he has ever written throughout his entire career (and that’s saying something!) - are about as dry as they can get. 😂
  18. No, there’s been no infatuation of my part - but then again, it was about 20+ years between when I started talking/caring about soundtracks and when she entered the mainstream consciousness (JP 4).
  19. I was wondering the same thing. I also have a soft spot for V, I thought it is a thoughtful continuation of I (and II, I guess).
