Eric_JWFAN 13 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 One of the best commercial scores I've heard in a long while.
tharpdevenport 4 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Probably one of thre worst I've heard in a long time.
Thor 9,362 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Cool tune! Very RC-style. I doubt it's a composition by some composer we know, though. Probably library music of some sort.
Eric_JWFAN 13 Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 Probably one of thre worst I've heard in a long time.Okay, so name me 5 better ones.
Nemesis 301 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 John Powell does similar stuff. It's cool I think.
Thor 9,362 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Might be Thomas Bergersen.Doesn't really sound like him, IMO. His samples are in another league altogether and usually much "fatter".
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,390 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I am sure Koray will go wild over it.
Richard P 5,304 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Pretty generic really, although I've heard worse.
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Doesn't sound like Powell at all to me...
nightscape94 968 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Sounds like generic commercial music to me.Edit: Looks like Richard beat me to it.
hornist 1,261 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 What an ingenious commercial. Really? If there was no sarcasm, you must be on the business. The music is like RC meets Verve.Meh.
pixie_twinkle 60 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Verve! Definitely! A bit of Coldplay thrown in, too.
Elmo Lewis 7 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 What an ingenious commercial.Really? If there was no sarcasm, you must be on the business.Well, it's manipulative and simplistic as every commercial is. But I find the naivete with which the main ideas are pitched (ever constructing, ever upwards, addressing the average citizen main financial insecurities with big, bold letters) quite charming. A very tight presentation of a bunch of thoughts from a brainstorming session. It's ingenious.
hornist 1,261 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Ok, you have some good arguments there about its brilliance but now when we are going to the bollocks financially, I hate these kind of ads. And basically everything related to financial markets. But about the music you must agree with me!?!It is like RC meets Verve.
Eric_JWFAN 13 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Probably one of thre worst I've heard in a long time.Okay, so name me 5 better ones.:crickets:

And basically everything related to financial markets. But about the music you must agree with me!?!It is like RC meets Verve.Oh yes, the content is quite repulsive in its opportunism. But as a commercial, it gets the job done better than plenty others in the banking sector.I have no opinion on the music. To me, it's just one more pastiche that screams "don't be scared, we are nothing new and therefore not threatening. Now listen to us and feel reassured".
Eric_JWFAN 13 Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 It is kind of Verve like.I think the quality is quite good for a commercial.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Probably one of thre worst I've heard in a long time.Okay, so name me 5 better ones.:crickets:The scores to the last five films to be released in theaters? It's honestly nothing special, sounds like an over-the-top commercial tune. And like with most YouTube videos with music, it's acknowledged in the comments. It was originally written for the commercial, but they don't say who composed it.

Koray Savas 2,260 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Oh.Well who gives a fuck about commercials? 99% of them don't use original music.
Eric_JWFAN 13 Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 Oh.Well who gives a fuck about commercials? 99% of them don't use original music. There's plenty that do. Which brings me back to my earlier statement about it being one of the best scores for a commercial. If you can't think of 5 that are better, then you'll have to agree my statement was correct, no?
