Star Wars: Andor (2022) - released episode spoilers allowed
A. A. Ron replied to Holko's topic in General Discussion
A prequel to a prequel? How perverse! -
The more I think about it, the more I realize this is truly one of my biggest problems with TLJ for me. I disagree with making Luke into a failure, but I still could have found that direction interesting if I bought into the story. Luke almost killing his nephew because of a bad feeling? I just don't buy that. It's not in character and worse, it's not in any way relatable.

I'm not convinced the average person would have experienced many emotions during The Hobbit trilogy, no matter what music was attached to it.
-
That goes for the whole trilogy.

Of course there isn’t anything wrong with that, but it’s not like these are great films, nor are the women in them particularly interesting. Rey, Jyn, Qi’ra, and even Leia are just ok in these films. Holdo, Rose, and Phasma are pretty much worthless. Like these movies themselves, these characters are forgettable.

So I did see this. Yes, I know I said I wouldn’t. I certainly didn’t plan to, but my new brother in law invited me and I’m trying to bond with the guy. Anyway, here’s my ranking for the franchise as it stands now: 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. Star Wars 3. The Force Awakens 4. Return of the Jedi 5. Revenge of the Sith 6. Solo 7. The Clone Wars (having seen maybe 3 dozen episodes) 8. The Blandalorian 9. The Rise of Skywalker 10. Rogue One 11. The Phantom Menace 12. Rebels (based on having seen maybe 8 episodes) 13. Attack of the Clones 14. The Last Jedi I’ve not seen the ewok movies or the holiday special. I am aware that my 2nd through 4th choices basically share a screenplay.

Finally got this yesterday and it sounds great! -
The Rise of Skywalker The Rise of Skywalker - Disney Records OST

“Fanfare?” “Prologue?” Something’s clearly up with the beginning of this movie. -
The Rise of Skywalker The Rise of Skywalker - Disney Records OST

Maybe the "fanfare" is the Fox Fanfare, back after the Disney acquisition. Or maybe JW replaced Newman's fanfare with one of his own. Or maybe Abrams went crazy and did a prologue instead of the usual title crawl. Or... Or... Or.... -
As far as AVATAR goes, it’s bold of you to assume that I haven’t heard an expanded bootleg or four myself. I know what the complete score is like and personally, I do not consider it a slog or a “very hard listen.”

Same. -
Not a popular grail item, but I'd like a legit expanded version of Rudy. Beyond that, I'm happy to keep collecting Goldsmith bottlecaps as they come. From Horner, I want expansions of The Land Before Time and AVATAR. I'd also really like a new recording of the complete score for Battle Beyond the Stars. I don't need anything from Silvestri.

Why do people prefer the Disney Trilogy to the Prequels?

Thanks for this. I was preparing to be offended. -
Why do people prefer the Disney Trilogy to the Prequels?

I cringed throughout the Prequel trilogy AND the midnight showing of TLJ, so much so that I will not even be seeing TROS in theaters. -
I don't listen to as wide a variety of scores as some here, but Williams, Morricone, Zimmer, Powell, David Arnold, Thomas Newman, and Bear McCreary are all instantly recognizable to me.

Glad I saw this discussion. Somehow I thought Stargate was shipping out on the 10th and I've been getting anxious waiting for it and my Disaster box. -
That doesn't follow. Disney has released at least 2 expanded Avengers albums alongside their regular OST counterparts on day 1.The decision may have made at Marvel Studios, but clearly, Disney was ok with putting all the music out there. I don't see any reason why they would let Marvel do that, but not Lucasfilm.
