  1. I have that one (iTunes download), coupled with The Magnificent Ambersons.
  2. I prefer the single LP TESB assembly to the 2 LP set. I suppose the fact that it's all I had for the first 10 years (until I got the Gerhardt) has something to do with it. I choose the Anthology over the 2 LP sequence when I want a more substantial listen. I wonder what a single LP sequence of SW would have looked like?
  3. Yes I saw that grrrr. I console myself with my recent purchase of Mission to Mars for around $5.
  4. I'm annoyed that Varese only 1000 pressed copies of their Raggedy Man re-issue, which sold out in a few days before I was able to secure it. Other than that, Kamen's Open Range, Peter Bernstein's My Science Project, Giacchino's Tomorrowland and Intrada's Volume 1 of Battlestar Galactica. On the downloads front, I had a bunch of stuff in my Google Play Music store wantlist for ages, thinking I would get to purchase them at some stage, and then Google goes and closes their store down without warning. A lot of thise titles are not available on iTunes so I've missed them. I'm also sorry I waited to purchase the iTunes exclusive DE of Goldsmith's Lionheart, as all the Varese iTunes exclusives have now disappeared.
  5. I actually had this exact model, bought at an electronics store in Tottenham Court Road during my only trip abroad in the mid-90's I sold it about 15 years ago, actually wish I hadn't.
  6. I would hope so. I for one would gladly receive any OST albums that got "pitched", at least for titles I don't already own.
  7. But if you did it would be the vanilla baseline model without all the bells and whistles right? (Sorry, I had to).
  8. It was pretty big back in the day in these parts. Of course everyone believed it was "composed" by Kenny G.
  9. My answer would depend on the composer. For John Williams releases, my completist leanings require me to keep the OSTs even when an expansion becomes available. The uniqueness of Williams' album arrangements happily complement this compulsion. Even where the OST assembly is preserved and remastered on the expansion, I still retain the prior release. For other composers, I tend to mix and match between OSTs and expansions depending on my preferences. For example, I have many Jerry Goldsmith expansions of his 80s scores but hardly any expansions of his 90s and 00s scores, because I find his later scores less enjoyable and varied in long form. Another factor is the near-impossibility to recover the cost of OST purchases where I live. Nobody buys CDs here anymore, and they certainly never bought instrumental soundtracks to begin with (unless it's The Mission or Dying Young or Titanic), so once I've acquired something it's usually in my collection for good unless I basically give it away for next to nothing. I've never tried to recreate an album from an expansion but I can understand the appeal of a bite-sized "highlights" presentation.
  10. Where I live new cars with CD players disappeared at least 6-7 years ago (along with CDs in stores).
  11. For me it's more about keeping them out of harm's way (dust, water, cats, bugs, long fingers, you get the picture). Your car still has a CD player?? I'd be too embarrassed.
  12. I transferred all my soundtracks and film/tv related CDs over a three year period starting about 5 years ago. I haven't played one of them for listening purposes in probably 10 years or so. I don't display them as there's no one to observe them other than myself. They're all stashed safely in crates. My Toshiba (cheepie) Blu-ray player has taken to doing the same thing of late. When the tray refuses to eject I give it a very firm whack and it opens promptly. You should try that.
  13. Return of the Jedi Wow, I'm surprised how many people voted for TROS. The Force That Awakens?
  14. Why not try EAC? I've had discs that iTunes refuses to rip (even to WAV) rip perfectly with EAC.
  15. That was a long time ago. Now I only listen to covers of classical music, such as The Land Before Time.
  16. Try me. In my early hi-fi days I enjoyed Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and Dvorak's New World Symphony. Stravinsky's Firebird is another piece I can appreciate (probably because it's quite filmic). Is Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue considered classical? I enjoy that too.
  17. If film music didn't exist I'd probably listen to classical. As it is I don't even get time to listen to anything.
  18. Not caring is... I can appreciate classical music but it does nothing for me emotionally.
  19. I wonder if Intrada has identified the affected batch and replaced their in stock inventory. I want to order this tomorrow with TLBT but am nervous of getting a faulty disc. If I don't order tomorrow I will not get this until next year, if at all. Decisions...
  20. Never really enjoyed Krull, I don't know why Perhaps I should watch the film, might provide context for those horrible synth wooshes.
  21. I know right? I can't believe it's been 5 months already since this was represssed, it feels like the other day. Hopefully Disney will release this to download, they've been quite active of late releasing expansions digitally.
  22. Another one of my Top 6 (sorry, couldn't narrow it down to 5) Horner scores gets the expanded treatment, after STII, STIII and Cocoon. That leaves just Willow and Glory.
  23. Seems this pressing has sold out, missed it again. Awaiting the next repressing, hope it won't take three years.
