  1. Excellent video - there has to be a collection of all the PBS recordings JW did with the Boston Pops somewhere? I remember even enjoying the classical repertoire they occasionally had.
  2. No use bashing Mr Spielberg, I think the blame lies squarely on Lucas. He took a generally formulaic approach to the prequels and music didn't quite enjoy the special attention it received in the Original Trilogy.
  3. The Doctor's Libretto works quite well!
  4. From what i've heard around these here parts, there are some pretty damn good musicians. I don't see why any of the musicians here wouldn't try to go for it.
  5. Gotcha - as do I Fair enough - adds to the atmosphere, so I can dig it. If it were up to me, I would send the flames of the sun itself to forever burn the eyes of said teenagers into oblivion, before smiting them to the fifth circle of hell for their transgressions. But that's just me. Btw - anymore info on the score?
  6. This news brings tears of happiness to my parched eyes. Especially needed in this time of need, where i've become jaded, cynical, and downright apathetic. Thanks concord!
  7. Hmmm, you didn't notice that I posted a link to my video here, did you? Anyway, to my latest abomination (in stereo!!).Neil Hilarious stuff Neil, keep it up!
  8. lol Sounds very scottish in the main sections.
  9. Oh man I am loving 'The Adventures of Mutt'. If that's not a scherzo, I don't know what is.
  10. I actually look forward to hearing what 'Russian' influences there are in the score. Would be a first from JW I would think?
  11. John Williams likes French horns—a lot. As does Goldenthal.
  12. Mr. T pitys the fool who has premonitions of being underwhelmed by 30 second sample clips.
  13. Do I hear a saxophone in some of those clips? Would sure be fitting with the "Russian Theme" of the movie (i'm thinking of Shostakovich's use in the Jazz Suites).
  14. Sweet zombie jesus, I was going to resist the temptation to listen.......but I think I will give in....to the dark side. *off to listen now*
  15. You're not the only one buddy, it really is quite torturous.
  16. Damn - didn't know that. Such a n00b mistake on my part.
  17. Which begs the question why exactly Spielberg has dropped the LSO in recent years - I suppose I can understand him using a studio orchestra for some films, but to drop them entirely? Especially in a score for a blockbuster such as this?
  18. People, people! Let's remember that this is the internet - there is no modicum of respect or tact here, only the endless ramblings, musings and contrariness that anonymity brings. That being said, I wouldn't change the internet (or this board) for anything - if I wanted civilized discussions I would talk to the boring rubes who surround me in my everyday life.
  19. Hmmm...I've heard of that theater. I think M. Night Shyamalan filmed some of his new film 'The Happening' there, if I remember correctly.
  20. This will be my first time seeing Indy in the theaters.
  21. How could I forget this, you are so right with that choice!
  22. You betta back up that statement with evidence! Only then i'll believe ya.
