  1. Shouldn't this be in the YouTube thread?
  2. I'm not so sure that DotF is known world-wide. The main theme or Imperial March maybe, but DotF?
  3. Finally! A music teacher who has the guts to say "I like John Williams, and thats okay." Unlike my music teacher who is convinced that Williams is an unoriginal hack and doesn't deserve to be taught in schools. Bravo!
  4. "Faithfulness" to source material has nothing to do with a film's quality. Hellboy is a good movie no matter how you look at it. Well said! Last week I had an argument with someone who is a big fan of the X-Men comic books and she kept saying how the first two films are weak because they are not true to the comics. I don't care about the comics, I said, I try to evaluate the movies on their own merits. Then she said that the third movie promises to be much better because Singer is no longer at the helm. Sigh. I never said that the faithfulness of the film had anything to do with its quality, I was merely making a statement. If I had been familiar with the Hellboy comic books beforehand, I would still like the movie whether it was faithful or not. Its the same with Burton's Batman movies.
  5. John Williams is about as common a (male) name comes.
  6. Has Williams appeared in any other movies besides Blown Away?
  7. Hellboy. I liked it alot, but I don't know if it followed the comic book very well since I've never read it.
  8. There really is no right answer, but I chose #2 anyway .
  9. Then there is sombody out there that I don't care for as a person.
  10. I know that The Hobbit has already been named, but I'd really like to see it be made. Peter Jackson does not have to direct it.
  11. When Andy breaks out of jail in The Shawshank Redemption. When Butch goes into the basement to save the man who previously tried to kill him in Pulp Fiction.
  12. That isn't the PTH theme. It is the pirate theme which happens to appear in PTH. The PTH theme is called Hook's main theme or Smee's Plan.
  13. There are still many biblical stories that have yet to be made into films.
  14. But isn't that exactly what the movie is about? I think only a few of these problems are really problems. Thats what I was getting at, Marian. Since I have literaly grown up with Hook, I accept the so-called flaws of the movie and love it anyway. Thats not to say that there aren't actual flaws (in my mind anyway) but like you said, most aren't really problems.
  15. I think that that is a common problem for Hook. It seems to be the ultimate kids movie, because something is lost on people who see it in adulthood. Then there are people (like myself) who will love it regardless of age or other peoples opinions. Visit the Hook IMDb forums to see what I'm talking about.
  16. You shoudn't have to force someone to see those films, Mark.
  17. I could vote, but I'd have to be familiar (or care about being familiar) with either of them first.
  18. There is definantly something wrong with that philosophy.
  19. The beginning (among other sections) of "Remembering Chilhood" from Hook. "The Ring Goes South" from FOTR.
  20. I don't think we've ever agreed more Joe. I will stand by puppet Yoda as long as I shall live.
