  1. Who cares, my point still stands that this is criminal.
  2. I've never had any reason to boycott a film, but I will for this one. I don't really care who's scoring it, what I care about is that they have the audacity to take a beloved Christmas film that's not even thirty years old, and remake it so the same assholes who shoveled buckets of popcorn down their throats with Aladdin, The Lion King and the other soulless, sadistic, cheap, hollow, incredulous, disingenuous remakes will come flying back to the cinemas for this garbage. You know what else will suck, and nothing against Debney - but this film won't have the same songwriting from Leslie Bricusse or Williams' magical themes. So fuck this, fuck everything about this. I don't love Home Alone, but the idea of remaking it because it will sell tickets is disgusting consumerist crap.
  3. The sustained brass blaring feels like a throwback to Indiana Jones, in fact there are several moments in all three sequel scores that sound like Williams was recalling those earlier Indy scores - I don't have a problem with that, however.
  4. It's a decent score, nothing to write home about. I liked a few pieces, and thought whilst I was ordering Total Recall, and with Love and Monsters limited to 2000, I'd pick it up to justify the shipping etc.
  5. When the forum page loaded for me, I read 'Francis Ford Coppola's gone...'
  6. What reason do we have to believe it's not true, after everything in those movies? Maybe Grindelwald is manipulating him... Just to be clear, I thought the reveal was monumentally awful, and when Credence blasts the mountain I laughed so hard. It was stupid.
  7. I like your assessment of Tron Legacy, but have to disagree with you on everything else!
  8. How to Train Your Dragon is the greatest score of 2010.
  9. Yes, the short episode style and the dynamic animation really was special, especially for fans of Genndy Tartakovsky's style and other popular series - Samurai Jack. I don't really know why they removed it from canon, apart from missing Ahsoka, it pretty much slots into the Clone Wars chronology without much interference - the last episode feeds directly into the beginning of RotS...
  10. Tron Legacy had this same multi-platform release marketing crap when they could've just released it all. A Deluxe Edition of that score would be appreciated now it's a decade gone by.
  11. It's possible the tags from Shazam are submitted from users' albums, hence why there might be an 'album version' with that particular track.
  12. I seem to remember someone ripped the CD, but the flaws were inherent.
  13. @bruce marshall Even if I believe this is a half-arsed measure, I still bought this for posterity and wanting music I didn't have. Quantifiable Connection missing from this set and others just plain evil. Zimmer and co. probably thought it wasn't necessary to have yet another version of the theme, but it's arguably one of the most crucial pieces in the film.
  14. @AC1 I believe Scott only directed the first two episodes but was EP for the rest of the series. I knew it wasn't related to Alien, but it looked just as unrelentingly dark. I might give it a watch after I finish Gambit.
  15. @AC1 I haven't bothered to watch Raised by Wolves, it seemed like more depressing, grim, dank Alien stuff. Was there anything salvageable?
  16. For the Yoda species, yes, for Humans like Luke and Leia, they age like we do. For the record I'm not complaining about the disparity. And a Death Stick addiction.
  17. Let's not forget, Clone Wars was aired out of order making things difficult. One thing I appreciate about the aesthetics of the series was the CGI was made to be on par with the visual style of the Prequels, whilst using the painterly textures that would become bolder for Rebels and the McQuarrie artworks of the OT. I find it's the story that carries the show over the art style, however. Much of the recent history of Mandalore and their culture was covered in Clone Wars and Rebels that it would be silly to ignore it, especially for returning characters - Bo Katan for instance was the leader of the Mandalorians at one point, and the Dark Saber was a significant piece of their heritage and history. I think this show should embrace the larger Star Wars universe and I can't wait for everything to feel more a part of that world.
  18. I loved the ties this episode has to Clone Wars and Rebels - seeing Bo Katan and hearing Ahsoka Tano's name was everything I hoped for. Also interesting to note the series is before the Battle of Jakku, when the last remnants of the Empire were finally destroyed. The episode was a shorter than usual, it was over before it began! The score was kind of sparse, more synth blibbity-blobbity, with a few nice variations of the main theme, but nothing that stood out. I think there's a homage to the Rescue music from ESB when the Imperial Officer takes the ship down, with those whirling strings...
  19. Not all film scores lend themselves to standalone concerts, instead individual suites maybe?
  20. It's not incoherent. The biggest crimes of these films are the sidelining of Newt's character, much like Bilbo in the Hobbit films. I just don't understand how Rowling squandered an opportunity to make Indiana Jones-like adventure films... They should've called the first film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and then immediately dropped that title for the second installment.
