Alan Silvestri's THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018)
James replied to Muad'Dib's topic in General Discussion
After half a dozen composers wrote a note for Spider Man, I think it's fair Silvestri to have his chance. -
When you do everything wonderfully well, but solve add some electronic shit to please the folks (I like this one!).

It is a sweet score without much identity and although Spielberg complain of composers copying to each other is noticeable the influence of Horner in the first tracks ((at least the military stuff). In the middle there are also two tracks reminiscent of punk-like score for Dark Knight. Spielberg has worked extensively with Horner on the Amblin Studios films, which justifies his admiration for him.

What happened to "Music Composed and Conducted by" on soundtrack covers??
James replied to 1977's topic in General Discussion
The composer has all the main credit. This works on a cover: Avatar: Music composed and conducted by James Horner, performed by the orchestra so-and-so. This no works: How to Train Your Dragon: Music composed by John Powell, conducted by Gavin Greenaway, orchestrated by a third guy, performed by the orchestra so-and-so, and with extra composition and orchestration by Michael, Anne, Jordan, Peter and Ezekiel.. -
I am particularly interested in how they will justify the need for so many characters working together at the same time. And I hope Silvestri handles the situation efficiently, he can not play the theme of avengers every time a hero practices a "heroic act.".

Wow! Behind the scenes of Interstellar's score! The guys back there are waiting for the "maestro" to sleep for them to make the magic happen!

What Is The Last Score You Listened To? (older scores)
James replied to Ollie's topic in General Discussion
I never listened to Hollow Men and I also suffered a little during the first attempts to listen to Brave Heart. I listened to Tintin, BFG and War Horse, but they never appealed to me. -

James replied to Ollie's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I'm sorry. Horner is the composer with the highest number of scores I've ever heard. I think 65% of everything he did. I think the "Bicentennial" theme is more beautiful than the "Beautiful Mind". -

What did George Lucas really do in Ireland?
James replied to Jurassic Shark's topic in General Discussion
I talk about the experience of not working with Lucas. The two always referred to him as an "obstacle" to good acting. EDIT: Ah! Hamil says he's unhappy with the choices that Abrams and Johnson have done for his character.- 98 replies

Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford have had this opportunity and I do not believe they have had better experiences with the new directors.- 98 replies

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (Doyle) and Bram Stoker's Dracula (Kilar) again again again alternately. -
Very interesting, if he manages to sign a prominent project these days he'll probably be a Pembertom, Johansson, Wallfisch or McCreary in the next five years.

After reading this I searched "Elfman" on Google to make sure he's still alive. I listened to a lot of mixed things. ST: Nemesis (Goldsmith), 007: The Goldfinger (Barry), both regulars. I'm also listening to Tomorrow Never Dies (Arnold) but I was interrupted on the sixth track. -
Arnold's vegan pancakes also want to get an ad. OFF TOPIC: I do not know where to post this, but the score for "Black Panther" will be digitally released Friday.

I heard it on Spotify. During listening I look for information about the film. Goldsmith working on the score only came up to me on the "Sistine Chapel" track.A very special moment, of course.
