  1. I've always heard it's the romantic theme. Even the track title suggests that. There is even an analysis topic here on the site. If this is not valid there is a theme for Han and Leia.
  2. The video tells that Valverde also wrote a book analyzing the music of Star Wars.He summarize the career of Williams, invite to a concert that will be in Spain on the 6th, in honor of the maestro's 86 years and makes an analysis about the construction of the most familiar themes. Edit: Sorry, @Andrés Valvader ! Now that I've realized that you're the video guy! Congratulations! I hope one day to have the opportunity to read your work!
  3. He incorporates his spirit at times, but most of the time he is just a normal member of this site. Desplat can sleep peacefully that this year he will win his second Oscar.
  4. It makes sense since he is one of the few who still make use of a pencil and a paper to transcribe his primary conceptions of a score.
  5. Gladiator Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End Rush The Last Samurai King Arthur The Lone Ranger Black Hawk Down Road to El Dorado The Dark Knight Sherlock Holmes Honorable mentions: (I like of them in the movies, nothing else) Man of Steel Mission Impossible 2 Batman Begins Interstellar The Amazing Spider Man 2 I imagine Hidden Figures more like a Wallfisch score with the Pharrell's participation mainly in the songs and the Zimmer's blessing. He did not do much here.
  6. Yes! I had heard it several times in some playlists in tribute to Horner, but until then I had never heard the whole score. I did this recently. It's a beautiful job. A short score. You can visit it several times without much commitment. As for Man of Steel, I prefer the version that plays during the scene with the Superman's flight.
  7. Williams is on the list of permanents contracts since Jaws. There is nothing to fear.
  8. It's much worse when you see it dubbed. Even the sound effects are lost. Other day I watched Blue Sky's "Robots" and lost my patience trying to listen to some music of JP.
  9. 1. ESB: The movie that defines the series and that manages to keep all the adorers of it together for all these years. 2. ANH: It's a bit slow at first half and very fast in the second, but it's a good "prelude". It's good matinee movie. And, in my opinion, it's the movie where the characters are most charismatic and relatable in the whole saga. It's good for the heart to watch it. 3. RO: It's more Star Wars than TFA and TLJ. And there's the final scene with Vader... That was wonderful. 4: ROFJ: I accept the Ewoks, but I do not accept Vader's redemption! Okay, it was a beautiful ending. 5. ROTS: Resolves the transition from Anakin to Vader relatively well. It's a bitter end, but it's a lot better than the predecessors. I like Obi Wan in this movie. 6. TFA: I like and do not like this episode. Rey is a good character, Ren too. But, I do not know... Sometimes the references annoy me, sometimes the thought "does not look like the George Lucas movies" also haunt my head. I'm still in the process of acceptance of this new trilogy. 7. TLJ: The paths that history has taken do not please me. The implication that Rey may have a romantic relationship with Ren, the decharacterization of Luke as the alleged cause of Ren's deviance, even the scant attention given to the new characters that were so important in the movie last and now are treated as mere supporting. But I also have this feeling with ESB (when Han and Leia are strangers to the whole main plot of the film and only later to pass to the center of the events). So... 8. AOCT: Is a psychological trauma to anyone.
  10. It is not difficult they give a nomination for Dario Marianelli's Darkest Hour in place of Williams or Burwell at Oscars.
  11. Yes! Braveheart! Especially when the film received so many awards and nominations. That was one of the most memorable injustices, for sure. It's like losing to Titanic.
  12. 1995 was a year of tough choices. But they could take one of Newman's nominations and put Horner in place.
  13. I think Williams and Greenwood did not attended. There are no pictures of them circulating on the internet today.
  14. Horner also in 2010 and Powell in 2011 and so many other nominees.
  15. It's a beautiful score. It's not the most original, but it's easily one of his best works. Now it is more than likely that he will receive another Oscar this year.
  16. It is the list with composers and soundtracks nominated. The text below is not very valid for attention. Edit: The text says that John Williams and Hans Zimmer are strong opponents for Greenwood. Edit. 2: I left the image alone to avoid misunderstandings.

Beauty and The Beast – (Alan Menken) 10.
