    Can’t believe a Kickstarter project can lead us to a new recording by an amazing trumpeter and the Maestro himself. I will buy the CD! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Maybe there will be a time for more kickstarter projects like this... it seems like Maestro Williams has been pretty enthusiastic about the whole project from the get-go.😆 👻

    I hope Williams would find a good hall and record Soundings with himself conducting. I only have the youtube 720p audio extract of Soundings (Dudamel conducting). But I want JW's version, maybe he'll even change a few bars or make some subtle changes to suit the acoustics of the studio/hall. 🤤 It's perfect JW. I don't get why some people would just step on JW when JW's music is just better than like 99% of 🎼 on the planet. 👻

    He wrote that during his "comedy period"? 🤯 JW is amazing😭 I have the LSO recording of Essay for Strings... great performance! I personally like to listen to Essay for Strings and Heartwood back to back because they are great examples... showing the variety of JW's strings writing. In fact, I would argue that they are (sort of) of the opposite end? In Essay, dissonance is used to create tension while in Heartwood, it's the reverse I think. 👻

    Wow, I gave it a few more listens and it really is based on the interval of a major second! It's so fascinating that JW could discover so much from so little😭🤩 the use of dissonance here somehow reminds me of TPM... and the strings writing... Anakin Defeats Sebulba? If it's wrtten in 1999 = awesome becuase 1999 Williams = awesome, it's like it's a fact🤩🤩

    For me, the thing that stands out in Tributes! For Seiji is the brass writing. More reserved than his big fanfares ✅and just about right👏. It is more celebratory than Soundings (with the focus on the different combinations of orchestral "sound effects"?) I think. 🤗Very interesting piece!!! 👻 😂it's also on YouTube... 👏 Seems like it's also taken from a broadcast🙂 👻

I feel like there’s a need for a that... esp for new/younger jwfans who might not be familiar with JW’s more classical side. “Whenever I fanboy it's like I go into a trance and I block off everything around me.” Okay I just want a dedicated thread for fanboying helping the world to better appreciate the architectural beauty of John Williams’s concert works and fanboying promote his unique musical voice to all nations fanboying ! thanks👻
