I feel the same way about Pringles so I get it. Shoot even the bear in Over The Hedge understood this when he said “you can’t just have one”

Temple of Doom is celebrating 40 years in 2024

Omg the lighting is SO GOOD!!!! The entire Temple set is so brilliantly crafted and lit so well, I call it 'deliciously dark' when I describe it because of how it looks. -

I remember being very little and my grandma and my aunt were watching this on tv(a terrible way to watch this movie, as well as every movie), and I remember my aunt telling me the ending had alligators in it, but I don’t remember anything else since I was very little, but I do remember rhis…. Fast forward several years and I remember watching it with my dad and maybe my mom, not sure, and I think we had watched Raiders before because I knew the characters. I don’t remember any reactions I had throughout the movie, however, I do know that afterwards i immediately went upstairs to recreate the rope bridge sequence with my dressed up as Indy because that was one of the coolest things I had ever seen, and still is to this day. The behind the scenes story of the single take with multiple camera angles and the dummies falling into the gorge is incredible. I love this movie the same way I love The Lost World. The last 30 minutes of the movie are balls off the wall fun, Steven Spielberg creating an over the top popcorn finale. Indy saves the kids, they escape the mines, there’s a runaway mine cart sequence…and after it comes to an end the heroes finally have a short rest moment…AND THEN A WAVE OF WATER JUST SHOWS UP!!! And the roller coaster continues! Indy overtaking the 2 swordsman with the funny nod to Raiders, then the rope bridge confrontation. I think the novelization has an interesting little take on this, it says something like “Indy wasn’t trapped on a bridge with the Thuggee…they’re trapped on a bridge with Indy!” And of course you have the joyous ending when the kids are reunited with their parents is so satisfying. I love it so much. -

Yeah I was gonna say there's a bit that isn't used in the film, the film starts at about the 41 second mark, so I think part of it was dropped from being used at all,

I thought it was 2:30? I don't remember all the cue names from the War sequence, there's quite a few.

I guess because that’s how the cue was recorded and a shot or so might’ve been removed so they had to make an edit to the music there. So both versions are the same takes except for the drum insert, and the film version is different but only because an instrument was muted, kind of like the electric guitar in the Coruscant Chase in AOTC, do I have that right?

I haven't had the chance to read the liner notes just yet (I will soon!), but does it explain why this was named "Alternate", why wasn't it named "Film Version"?

I didn't want to answer for him but I remember seeing or hearing him say that he, Mike, and John were very happy with the final presentation after everyone came together to discuss how it should be presented and they all got to share their thoughts on it.

John Williams' Film Night at Tanglewood, Aug 2 and 3, 2024
Brando replied to Smeltington's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
When I bought them last year they arrived no more than a few weeks after ordering, even after I emailed them, which I believe was the same day actually, but if you selected paper ticket delivery they will mail it to you. And as a fail safe you can always pick up a paper ticket at will call, I did that when I got my seat upgraded and it was too close to the concert time to send them out. -
I believe the film version/insert wasn't fully used as was written. This is my edit which contains a leak or a mockup, I don't remember where it came from, and I did have to edit it to match the film. For some reason it won't copy at a specific timestamp, but if you start at 0:27 you can hear what I'm referring to.
-
If someone else doesn’t do it I can maybe see if I can record it somehow.
-
So the insert ends at roughly the 2.5ish second mark?

Can you post an audio clip of that? I’m curious to hear it separated from the rest of the cue on its own. I know what it sounds like but by itself would be interesting.
