What Is The Last Score You Listened To? (older scores)

Terrible news. I'm a big fan of Ghostbusters and I enjoyed National Lampoon's Vacation and Multiplicity. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends. RIP Harold Ramis

Looking forward to Revolutions (though that one's gonna have to wait since there's other releases from LLLR, Intrada, and Varese I have yet to pick up and don't want to miss out on)and Escape From LA. Just wish Escape Fom LA had more than 1500 copies. I don't want to miss that one, b/c I don't own the 1996 Milan release. And I'm a fan of both Carpenter and Walker's music, in general. Looks like we'll be getting plenty of Walker this year. Last week S:TAS , next week Escape From LA, and hopefully some time later this year B:TAS Vol.3. Now if only some label can reissue Walker's Memoirs Of An Invisible Man since that's been long OOP. Maybe Varese will next week, but I'm not holding my breath on that happening.

So Webb approached Jablonsky before Zimmer to score TAS-M2. http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/exclusive-interview-composter-steve-jablonsky-talks-transformers-4-lone-survivor-and-michael-bay After reading that it makes me wonder if Webb hadn't any intention to re-team with Horner for the sequel. He probably always had an RCP composer in mind for TAS-M2.

Zimmer did a Q&A today with fans on Reddit Some fans asked about TAS-M 2. http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1v88ck/i_am_hans_zimmer_back_on_reddit_once_more_ask_me/cepnv8x http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1v88ck/i_am_hans_zimmer_back_on_reddit_once_more_ask_me/cepnx8c It doesn't surprise me Zimmer would take the more contemporary progressive rock approach with this score. Especially with the likes of Johnny Marr, Pharell Williams, etc. involved. As disappointed as I am about Horner being unable to return I'm still cuious of how Zimmer's score will turn out in the end. It makes sense why he woud take the approach he's taking with the Parker/Spider-Man character. Just hope the score is fresh and unique from any of his previous work.

Though it can be a little bombastic sometimes. It is a fun score. The Tara theme adds enough emotional weight to the more extravagant moments of the score, imo. -

Sort of lacks the brisk moments the original had, but I enjoyed it none the less. -

That was unexpected. Anyways looking forward to purchasing it whenever I have the opportunity.

If they hadn't retold the origin, but instead was a loose sequel of the Raimi trilogy, the Sinister Six wouldn't feel as rushed at this point. I know Sony felt Spider-man 3 hadn't given 'em an option, but still. I agree if you're going to start over from scratch then I'd rather the build up of the Sinister Six spread a few films, but Sony felt the need to keep up with the MCU films instead.

To each his own. It's better than a ton of the superhero themes and movie themes in general out today, imho. News to me. From her last interview Karol You've refreshed my memory on the subject. I do remember reading about this feud over the theme. -

Anybody know the chronological oder of Curt Sobel's Alien Nation? The Kritzerland is the album master of the score that was never released.
-
Nice guess.

James Newton Howard's Catching Fire (Hunger Games 2)
lonzoe replied to KK's topic in General Discussion
According to T. Bone Burnett Elfman was "fired" on the first Hunger Games movie. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1717665/hunger-games-soundtrack-t-bone-burnett-danny-elfman.jhtml -
Hopefully Jackman will adapt it for next year's Winter Soldier, but I doubt it.

Basil Poledouris' THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER - 2013 Intrada Expanded

Interesting that all 90s Jack Ryan scores got an expanded release this year. It's either a coincidence or they heard about that new Jack Ryan movie coming out this Christmas.
