  1. Well,CGI speaking look at Sebulba and Watto, Boss Nass, and even Jar Jar or Yoda...I mean even their clothes and stuff move.I think there pretty convincing, better than most other sci-fi flicks(the Troll in harry Potter???),and that more work is put into them. In Star Trek, aliens are always dudes with costumes...and not alway very good,ST movies have a lower budjet too. K.m.
  2. oh my,i read that's REALLY rare, how much did you pay?. K.M.How knows Crusher will be dying of jealousy when he sees that.
  3. What i mean is that Lucas is probably just not so familiar with the scores as much as WE are here on this board, beeing involved in so many aspects of the movie, that he probably wouldn't notice if a bit came from TPM or whatever in AOTC,the only time he probably heard the music is in january..... K.M.Looking for other suspects in the butchering of the SW prequel scores.
  4. Williams quoted that Lucas makes all the final desisions in a SW movie, whether he directed or not.So he was involved all right, and probably very closely.I state the example again of Spielberg with Poltergeist. K.M.
  5. You know I'm not sure anymore...maybe Lucas really does only make a few changes when the score is recorded, and just doesn't notice, remember it,or care what happens after.Ben Burt and as discussed before seems the one who mixes the music in to advantage his own sound effects in the end. K.M.
  6. Bah,I don't collect DVD's,first they are still expensive, second I learned my lesson with shelfulls of VHS tapes I watched once or twice at most, third, they usually come up with a super deluxe edition after the first release, fourth, you can rent them to see those obligatory "deleted" scenes THEY LEAVE OUT ON PURPOSE IN THE THEATRICAL RELEASE TO SELL THE DVD's. K.M.
  7. hmm,Figo, you seem to know lots about classical music, but what else? K.M.Who knows little about musical techniqes, but, these are not my only field of education or interests,in fact they contradict artistic likings.
  8. Is it on a bootleg as a bonus track?Guess so since thre is no official version of Cinderella Liberty..I know I made my own 7 minute version piece from the Music for Stage and Screen Bpops c.d.,a narrated 20 minute concert arrangements.I just deleted the narrated parts, and it's pretty good ,sounds very different from the original Reivers recording and has an extra scherzo not heard on the original disk. K.M.
  9. I agree, and to me even if I heard lots of classical music or other film music, nobody does it better than Williams imo Ex:Last segment of The shark Cage Fugue, especially the concert version on the Bpops c.d. Indy's theme mixed with short Round's in the movie End Credits of Last Crusade, and alternating louder and softer for each theme you get confused which theme is playing. Last segment of Summon the Heroes The Dark Side Beckons(Final Duel),ROTJ,When Luke gets pissed off. Here the layering is so complex but flows so perfectly that I can't hum it yet in my head. I think the term for this technique is Polyphonic music. K.M.
  10. Without having read the whole thread,I prefer the SCORE versions of that theme FAR better than the concert arrangement on the original album. K.M.Posting a lot tonight.
  11. Williams music can go from very low volume to hear defeaning in an instant. It's defenitely not good background conversationnal music like a typical Horner score(like Deep Impact).I too find myself scrambling for the volume knob many time on most of his c.d's .Notable Example,Aboard the Executor on TESB S.E.you ge that quet probe droid music, then blam a superloud(unused)version of The Imperial March,or in TPM when they fly to Coruscant you get that gentle Anakin's theme when he interacts with Padme that slams into the hyper loud "landing fanfare" for Coruscant. K.M.
  12. I like the Amblin logo,it's like a minature encapsulation of Williams most typycal style of the mid 80's K.M.
  13. yes,and "I've been dying a little each day ever since you came back into my life.I truly,deeply...."Padme. and beside the worse were the love scenes.Since I buy those giant soda format and a refilll to boot,as I already mentionned,my wasroom time were The Meadow Picnic and the Love Pledge,Imo the 2 worst scenes in the movie. k.M.
  14. Bah,I voted for Stanley and Iris. It's short, but has a couple of nice themes in it so it's not too repetitive a la Accidental Tourist. K.M.
  15. I don't hear Luke and Leia,but clearly the Emperor's theme. K.M.
  16. Well, not when ALL instruments of a 100 piece orchestra seem to be playing all at once toghether. K.m.
  17. I see it's about 50-50.No wonder Williams lost the Oscar to one of them.BTW I voted for A.I.,but like Potter a lot too. K.M.
  18. If that's what you really think then i doubt i can be of help to you. : well I agree with him on Cuththroat Island. It's bombast of the wrong kind.
  19. The House Cup,Harry Potter...just before they leave Hogwarts,darn i want this. K.M.
  20. K.M.Who still wonders what triplets are after reading all this.
  21. On some cues I prefer the Rhino release, and on some the re-recorded Varese score album, notably The Helicopter Rescue. K.M.
  22. I dunno,I didn't like it,like most of Attack of the Clones,His action music is somewhat far deriving very far from his usual thematic style approach.Unfortunately I don't like this new style. I do like a lot that nice melody on the last track.Alas, there is always one or 2 tracks that have kept me purchasing Willliams score albums, even the not so good ones(I basically only listen to Back to America in Angela's Ashes)As far as other composers goi I quit Horner and Goldsmith a long time ago. I did buy Elfman's Spiderman as an exception. K.M.
  23. Well,I said I wouldn't participate in another Horner debate, but here's my top 5(not in order) Land Before Time Star Trek 2 Krull An American tale(minus the song tracks) Cocoon K.M.
  24. Williams writing 40 minutes of the Potter 2 score and the rest completed by another.Another Jurassic Park 3 ,Superman 4 or the *gulp* the tracks actually recorded by Williams will be identified(like in Shadows of the Empire) anybody why Williams is dooing that...getting lazy, burntout, sick??    K.M.Who is sure this has been discussed but is a bit late on his MB reviewing.
  25. K.M.who doidn't bother to read this thread,as it is redundant. Yes,Palpatine is Darth Sidious,Palpatine the supreme Chancellor and the Emperor ultimatly.There. K.M.2Who whished some people got the major plot in the SW movies.
