  1. I thought it was already clear that in 2001: ASO, man's achievements are wondrous (or so it seems*), but space is cold and deadly. * Seemingly because in space man is still at its infancy, merely taking baby steps into the universe, and his achievements are also working against him (later repeated by Ash in Alien).
  2. He must be thinking of that Game Of Thrones chick, Emilia Clarke. You probably can't find Edge Of Tomorrow or The Quiet Place in the 99p bin, so Richard hasn't seen those yet. - Emily Blunt - Emilia Clarke
  3. Wine? You mean coffee, right?! Here, Thor!
  4. She was believable in both roles.
  5. That's why I call Alien the dark side of 2001: ASO.
  6. I didn't buy the premise of The Village, and, as usual, Shyamalan never bothers to make things believable. Oddly enough, Unbreakable, with the exception of the family scenes, is his most believable movie, which is probably due to the core idea of making superheroes more realistic, and thus more believable. It's an incredible movie. One of Scorsese's best.
  7. Have you seen the movies she's in? You don't think she's adequate for these type of flicks?
  8. In 1979 I thought Alien was the scariest movie ever. Now I think it's a masterpiece in mood, design and direction (storytelling). It also makes me wonder what the frack happened to Ridley Scott.
  9. I once bought it for a friend's birthday. It's probably worth its weight in gold now.
  10. I never confronted her with that particular question, but who knows, maybe it was. Say, is there a male nakedness in Lawrence?
  11. Hey, that was my mom's favorite flick, together with Lawrence Of Arabia.
  12. With Severance and now Ripley I can safely say that the Golden Age of Television is still alive.
  13. That's how it always should be, IMO. And it's what Spielberg said about Empire Of The Sun (without saying it's his best movie, of course, I don't think Spielberg likes to speak in those terms, neither did Kubrick). Ridley Scott describes Blade Runner as his most personal movie. Somehow I'm more drawn towards their most personal movies than towards their 'audience movies'.
  14. "They are all my children, but, I really do think that Brundlefly's favorite movie of mine is my best movie." - Quentin Tarantino Better now?
  15. I've heard that the AI enhanced Aliens still has a bit a grain and that it looks stunning. Would love to check it out but I'm not going to buy the movie again. To be honest, I've seen Aliens enough by now. The only Cameron movie that I'm not yet tired of is T2.
  16. "They’re all my children, but, I really do think Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is my best movie." - Quentin Tarantino
  17. After two episodes I can tell the writing and storytelling is very run-of-the-mill. It feels like the people who made dozens of others shows are now making Fallout in the same way they made all the other shows.
  18. Let's hope his last movie won't be another Western, because let's face it, that's not his forte. Heck, even a Tarantino Bond movie would be better than a Western.
