  1. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World A good third outing, although I prefer the other two. This one seems to feature less growth from its main character (although that's not to say there is none) and most of the series' secondary character's are just there with not much distinctive to do. Still, it's a very good-looking film and Powell's score us very good in the film. It particularly shines in the film's second half. Glass Glass wants to be three things at once: a sequel to Unbreakable, a sequel to Split and its own movie. Unfortunately, this doesn't quite work. The movie starts out promising, but then drags. Audience members who were there to watch the sequel to Split seemed utterly confused by all the comic book references. If you're there to see the sequel to Unbreakable, you will be very disappointed. As I was. I walked out of the theatre thinking "I waited 19 years for this?" Not a good sign.
  2. Or: all the Harry Potter movies are just Die Hard clones.
  3. It was originally released in the summer, so I'd say no. But it's a perfect antidote to all the schmaltzy saccharine Christmas family crap you'd otherwise get shoved down your throat on Christmas. So yay!
  4. Well, this set looks gorgeous! But I'll be listening to the other sets I ordered along with it first. Save the best for last and all that. Now playing: Empire of the Sun, disc 2.
  5. Mine arrived yesterday. It was delivered at the neigbors'. I just got it. I just wanted to rub that in your faces. Hurray!
  6. I own both the Rhino release and the Blue Box. I'm not sure if I'm willing to triple dip. But given the people behind it, in sure this release will be wonderful!
  7. I like this idea. I'll have to go through my iTunes library some time to figure this out. There will be a few years with heavy competition!
  8. I purposely limited the amount of albums I ordered with the Potter box set in order to not get flooded in music. Also, this stuff is expensive.
  9. With any luck, there will be two more of these by the end of next year. If I can get around to finish them. 😀
  10. I've made a few small updates to some of the videos: Goat Bait has been resynced to line up better. It was about 1 second off. ^ This is now fixed! I also wanted to make that video that Jay asked for, combining The Saboteur and Ailing Triceratops. It turned out The Saboteur was out of sync by two seconds! I resynced it, with the final chord not coming in until we cut back to Grant & Co. Works perfectly. So The Saboteur has been updated and here below is the video combining the two cues (although I still prefer to have them seperated). Enjoy!
  11. I haven't picked this up yet. I'm hoping for TND next year and then I'll get all three Arnold/Brosnan scores in one go. Hasn't Snow Business been available for ages, though? I believe it was up on Arnold's website as a (lossy) promo track for a while.
  12. I recently watched E.T. at home and realized I had forgotten how fantasticly that score supports the film and hiw it grows bigger and bigger towards that amazing climax. They did a live to projection performance of it in Brussels last year and since watching the film again I really regret not going.
  13. Oh, that should be good as well. I was very impressed by hearing excerpts of the score in London. It's phenomenal live.
  14. I've been to: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Titanic Star Wars West Side Story I've already booked tickets for The Empire Strikes Back next year. I'm hoping RotJ will follow the year after and I'd love to catch up on RotK at some point. I would also like to see: Jurassic Park E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and maybe Home Alone
  15. Admittedly, I've never seen any other version of the film. But the Bluray just looks off. Like I said, it's modern-day palette clashes with the other aesthetic elements. And it seems like nobody told the production designer or the cinematographer this is what they were going for. There's deep colours in the sets and coloured gels used all over the place, all destroyed by fiddling with the colour in post. All-in-all, it just my enjoyment of the film.
  16. I have the film on Blu-ray. Unfortunately, they did a new colour grade for the Blu-ray that is absolutely awful. There's hardly any colour left and the modern-day palette they ended up with clashes horribly with all the other 1970's aesthetics.
  17. Tom Marvolo Riddle became Marten Asmodom Vilijn in the Dutch translation. It's an anagram of "Mijn naam is Voldemort", which translates back to "My name is Voldemort".
  18. There's even more now. Sadly, I found myself there without a pen and unable to add a message myself. Get well soon, Maestro.
