  1. What about the NBC THE MISSION Theme recordings from the TV department?
  2. Yes another good point the movie is quite an odd one from his filmography and its disappointment could be another issue. But having heard the music from the online sources I must say its quite a passionate work but very much in the dated sound of its period. Oh well, lets wait and see.
  3. I think one of the reasons why Williams rejected the idea of these early scores from coming around today, is that they are highly dated and primitive from his own evolution point of view as a composer. I think he is a bit embarrassed about them. We all know how we feel as an artist if something that was created ages ago and revisiting it becomes a moment of anguish. Also another reason would be the sonic quality of those tapes which were not up to the mark or the performances of that orchestra/ensemble. I remember the original recording of the JAWS score was not possible for release because Williams didn't want it out But now we know it was primarily a pseudo-mono styled recording made to fit the dynamics of the film. Thankfully technology allowed it to happen with Mike Matessino at the helm (And we know how the first cd release of that score turned out to be) Speaking of Matessino, it seems that Williams is now unusually warming up to many new expansions as Williams and his management team trust his expertise, ethics, skills and insight into the restoration process. This new THE COWBOYS is another example of this fruitful relationship blossoming. Each new release gives us hope and edges up a notch for more projects to happen. So, yes, give it some time and and many more wonderful surprises are in store for us. I will wait and champion my support to Mike and the labels.
  4. I asked this question over at FSM: Does anybody remember this was prepped as a 'complete release' more than a decade ago with a track list on some label and listed on Barnes and Nobles website? And then it was gone ! Rumours were that Williams nixed the album when he found out that it was coming. This was around the time when THE BLUE MAX and THE REIVERS were being issued on the Sony legacy label. Long time ago and my memory on this a bit hazy.
  5. Terrific new release! What a great restoration this appears to be. There is some good bass in there (from the samples) Kudos to the Varese gang!
  6. I think this might turn up at Quartet Records feet someday.
  7. Apollo 13, I hope is one of them. Fully expanded to its complete form and not as a repress of the promo program. Willow I hope happens this year. We know it's been in the works. I'd love to see The Land Before Time grace as a 2cd project.
  8. New update from Doug Fake : Our latest “every-two-weeks” new CD arrives this Tuesday, like (mostly) clockwork. However, due to some vacation schedules getting underway, you’ll find the artwork, contents and sound samples posting here one day earlier than normal, i.e. tomorrow eve, Sunday the 10th. It’s a very modest release, consisting of two 60’s soundtrack albums making their American CD premieres on a single disc, both in their original US versions from the original album masters. Whether these are nostalgic titles you may have grown up with, or they be products from before your time, both remain musical delights. Watch for artwork, contents and sound samples to appear here tomorrow eve, Sunday the 10th. Orders will begin shipping on Tuesday the 12th. http://store.intrada.com/s.nl/sc.13/category.60330/.f
  9. Maybe the wider implications could refer to the current sequels, starting with JURASSIC WORLD? Another wild card theory of mine is it could be if LLL has entered an agreement with Lucasfilm to start with the Indy scores? Thus a newly remastered and expansion of INDIANA JONES/ KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL could be it. A kinda of 'meh' for many of us but the wider implications of the release could mean a proper restoration of the earlier classic three films with no one else but Mike Matessino at the helm? ...Yeah I know -I wish!
  10. It could very well be HARRY POTTER Series being released and starting with the last film.... Or Jurassic Park III Expansion could be another possibility which was expected to come from LLL as foretold by MV right after the Williams set came about and its release could be right on time as the latest sequel in the franchise hits out.
  11. It has to be a franchise related title. Why else would a studio get so worked up on logos?
  12. Can we decipher which cue was performed with them? since there a few on the album. Thanks.
  13. Exciting new haul from Universal - upcoming from Intrada in 2018: Doug Fake chimed in at their Intrada forum: http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7831
  14. The RCA Victor edition (aka Sony reissues) of STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE is the only one from the Trilogy expansion cd sets that sounds incredible to me.The mix is identical to the original Eric Tomlinson's mixes. I wonder if that 2cd album master assembly was used to configure the new edition here?
  15. Me too on this @Yavar Moradiand @Brundlefly. The sonic upgrade is definitively something that has edged my agenda to get this on my next order. I did an A & B test on the samples and the sound was staggering on the new edition. The old album somehow sounds brickwalled.
  16. I'am hoping that the concert broadcast will be accessible to us via a download on Sunday or thereafter?
  17. I was doing an A & B comparison with the old and new edition of BABY via online samples and the difference is light and day. There is more dynamic punch and the old samples sounded brick walled to me. Definitely getting an upgrade to this.
