  1. Thor, I'm with you on this. I forgot I even bought it on Blu ray years ago and haven't gotten in the mind set to just experience it again in full HD. It's a powerful film and experience to begin with.
  2. I was referring to this section: That sounds exciting to me! At the end of the Jurassic Park podcast, you advised John Williams fans to “save some money” for upcoming releases; were you just referring to E.T. and Close Encounters, or are there more releases around the corner as well? I didn’t mean to imply that a flood of releases were imminent, but rather that it would be good to set aside a little nest egg so that the funds would be there for whenever releases came along. However, at that time I said that I knew that Stanley & Iris was happening, but there were also one or two others I thought might be out this year but aren’t yet. E.T. and Close Encounters really took over my life this year and I’m not complaining; they are two of my favorites. But there are just so many things you can put into the in-box with Williams or Spielberg when they’ve got so many projects going. The record labels can get overwhelmed as well and sometimes these things take more time than we’d like them to. E.T. was actually supposed to be out in June and then Close Encounters in September, but both got delayed. I’ve got some huge non-Williams releases coming up as well. Short answer: yes, there is more to come.
  3. Great Questions here Jason, they put down a lot of the rumor mongering and aimless speculations to rest(while raising up some new ones) ;). I hope we will have more detailed discussion when Close Encounters finally arrives.
  4. I'd love Williams to revisit the JFK sound ala 'Garrison's Obsession' and 'The Conspirators'
  5. Been meaning to get that Spielberg Kuzel recording. Ive been impressed with its version of THE SUGARLAND EXPRESS Theme.
  6. I'm hoping for a Jazz inspired Gershwin' esque' sound!
  7. ScoringSessions.com on their facebook page has announced that THE POST (aka THE PAPERS ) scoring session with John Williams has begun at Sony!
  8. and they also banned that RoryR fella !
  9. What was the OST album master doing in London??
  10. New arrivals. The first pressing of the VERTIGO from the Mercury label has a great dynamic sound that was not so orderly in the Varese expansion issue. Decided to hunt the Varese rerecording of North' s 2001 A Space Odyssey - after being impressed by the Filmusicte concert that Varese did. The Herrmann cd and Korngold DVD-A being upgrades for me. Still no sign of ET 2CD set.
  11. I'd love to be totally surprised again like last time when the JURASSIC PARK set came out. Our expectations for other JW surprise albums have tripled ever since then....
  12. There was a talk about AI being prepared as a Suite for a concert performance by John Mauceri. In fact, Mauceri wasn't aware of the new 3cd set from La La Land and Mike Matessino quickly arranged a copy for the conductor. So we may see a suite someday.
  13. Looks like October 20th from LLL next but nothing from JW. The Black Friday releases are now set for Nov 28th. 4 out of 6 titles are ready for manufacturing according to LLL via facebook announcement just a few minutes ago.
  14. Isn't LLL next release announcement due out on 24th, October? Iam hoping if we can get a JW release in there somewhere, I doubt if CE3K is there yet but given the flavour of the month WITCHES OF EASTWICK expansion would be a perfect release title.... just saying...!
  15. I'm more interested in the 2nd cd. I hope the OST album sounds as good as the audiophile version that was issued in Japan.
  16. Good to know that they have dissected the music cues. How many pages does it entail?
  17. Dont worry! Williams Management team are very keen on MM being involved in all future restoration /expansion projects. So when ever it happens MM will be involved. MM has also written a new essay on the upcoming Vinyl reissues which are coming in November,
  18. Good to know! While the 1996 edition was hissy but then the 2002 edition removed the hiss but reduced the brightness off the brass instruments somewhat. I hope that same brightness is maintained without eliminating the high end fields of the sound stage. How does the booklet fare?
