The MCU - Marvel Cinematic Universe

Gotham is actually a lot more grim and darker than any of the Nolan films. The violence in Gotham is more graphic. Which is surprising given it is a TV show on during the early evening hours in the U. S.

What do you mean? That's the perfect place to put Captain America 1, and the Agent Carter 1 shot. Where else would you put them?

It would make no sense to watch Captain America before all the others. Iron Man is the best introduction to the universe.

Besides, if you want to get technical, Captain America opens with the modern-day search through the ice for Cap's ship, then flashes back to his whole story, then resumes where it left off, ending just before the Avengers.

it would be odd to watch that film first, before you knew who Nick Fury was, or the Stark connection, etc.

What the?

Marvel Studios has updated their Phase 3 schedule to include three untitled movies in 2020.
The three films have release dates of May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and Nov. 6, 2020.
The news follows the announcement of an Ant-Man sequel in 2018, which pushed Black Panther up to February 2018 and Captain Marvel back into 2019.
These three new films will likely represent the start of Marvel’s Phase 4, following Avengers: Infinity War – Part II in 2019.

This means that once 2016 is over, the MCU will have 3 films coming out every single year
2016-May - Captain America 3
2016-Nov - Doctor Strange
2017-May - Guardians of the Galaxy 2
2017-Jul - Spider-man
2017-Nov - Thor 3
2018-Feb - Black Panther
2018-May - Avengers 3
2018-Jul - Ant-man 2
2019-Mar - Captain Marvel
2019-May - Avengers 4
2019-Jul - Inhumans
2020-May - ?? (probably Guardians of the Galaxy 3)
2020-Jul - ?? (probably Spider-man 2)
2020-Nov - ?? (probably Cap 4, Thor 4, Iron Man 4, or Doctor Strange 2)

It's not the size of the budget that matters; it's the quality of the idea.

That being said, I wonder how much of their budget is being spent on marketing.

It sounds like a ridiculous sum of money if you isolate it, but considering how many people will be involved in the production of this massive two-parter, $1 billion doesn't seem so far fetched.

"Number of people"? Almost half of their budget is going toward paying the cast members, with RDJ taking the biggest slice.

Here's hoping they break even (which, knowing the Marvel fandom, it very much will).

No surprise there

In the end, Thor will be the only multi-film within the MCU that switched directors each time!

Considering the zero hour job change, Reed did a hell of a job. Ant-Man was a rather delightful superhero movie!

Yep. And the score, too!

The fact that it was a "small" superhero movie (the fate of the world wasn't hanging in the balance here) was a breath of fresh air!

Why should I care what's going on if there's no giant air battle to determine the fate of the entire planet/galaxy/universe?
