A24 4,346
Imagine if Williams scored the Jackson films. For many, it must be the ultimate combination of sound and vision.

A24 4,346
Why not? I mean, Williams can be any classical composer he wants to be, as long as they let him.
Marian Schedenig 8,211
But he wouldn't have delved as deeply in the complexities of the source material and the cultures portrayed. Shore's scores are context first, plain music second.
Unlucky Bastard 7,782
Goldsmith would have done it right. Imagine the Lionheart-like synth fanfares and sinister electronic rhythms to convey the looming threat of Sauron.
Quintus 5,399
I'd have loved a Williams LotR score. It'll always be one of those 'what ifs' for me.

nightscape94 965
I'm certain that a Williams-scored LOTR would, at the very least, be good.
A24 4,346
Would it not have been like Seven Years In Tibet? Williams in epic mountains mode?
Dixon Hill 4,234
Of course many other composers could successfully have scored those films. But it was a case of the filmmakers having a very clear vision and knowing exactly the kind of musical aesthetic they were looking for. And while others could have approximated it, Shore was the real embodiment of it.
