filmmusic 1,846
For the first time, all 75 original Silly Symphony cartoon soundtracks will be released on sixteen pristine vinyl records, in eight gatefold covers plus a keepsake slipcase box. Each album will feature liner notes by renowned Disney music historians. Multi-award-winning producer Randy Thornton has meticulously restored and remastered every note of these priceless musical works, from The Skeleton Dance and The Old Mill to Three Little Pigs and The Night Before Christmas. The sound quality will be unlike that of any and all previous audio or video releases.http://blogs.indiewire.com/animationscoop/a-silly-symphonies-celebrationin-vinyl-and-in-concert-20150603http://www.disneymusicemporium.com/rgshop/silly-symphony-collection/Complete track list:Volume 1: 1929•1930The Skeleton DanceEl Terrible ToreadorSpringtimeHell’s BellsThe Merry DwarfsSummerAutumnCannibal CapersNightFrolicking FishArctic AnticsMidnight In A Toy ShopVolume 2: 1930•1931Monkey MelodiesWinterPlayful PanBirds of a FeatherMother Goose MelodiesThe China PlateThe Busy BeaversThe Cat’s OutEgyptian MelodiesThe Clock StoreThe Spider And The FlyVolume 3: 1931•1933The Fox HuntThe Ugly DucklingThe Bird StoreThe Bears and the BeesJust DogsFlowers and TreesBugs In LoveKing NeptuneBabes In The WoodsSanta’s WorkshopBirds In The SpringFather Noah’s ArkVolume 4: 1933•1934Three Little PigsOld King ColeLullaby LandThe Pied PiperThe China ShopThe Night Before ChristmasGrasshopper and the AntsThe Big Bad WolfVolume 5: 1934•1935Funny Little BunniesThe Flying MouseThe Wise Little HenPeculiar PenguinsThe Goddess of SpringThe Tortoise and the HareThe Golden TouchThe Robber KittenVolume 6: 1935•1936Water BabiesThe Cookie CarnivalWho Killed Cock Robin?Music LandThree Orphan KittensCock O’ The WalkThree Little WolvesElmer ElephantVolume 7: 1935•1937Broken ToysToby Tortoise ReturnsThree Blind MouseketeersThe Country CousinMother PlutoMore KittensWoodland CaféLittle HiawathaVolume 8: 1937•1939The Old MillWynken, Blynken & NodMoth and the FlameMerbabiesFarmyard SymphonyMother Goose Goes HollywoodThe Practical PigThe Ugly DucklingEhm...since we're living in 2015.... won't there be any cd release??? ZackR 95
To quote myself from FSM.... I'd LOVE this. Absolutely LOVE this. I just don't have a turntable to play it. But wow, I never thought this stuff would see a release. I may buy just to support it but I wish there'd be a CD option as well.

Balto's Claws 2
$400 - what???Even the Disneyland boxset that was released years ago didn't cost that much on its initial release...and that was CDs. Like to know where they will find people that will pony up that kind of money for records that will degrade each time they're played.

Balto's Claws 2
They gotta be banking on that 5% of music buyers....I guess at $400 a pop they'll make money. I just don't get why they didn't bother with CDs or even a digital download.
Faleel 5,381
I just don't get why they didn't bother with CDs or even a digital download. The article Jay linked to says a free Digital Download comes with it...
Wojo 2,453
Um... You buy the set. You use the code to download the digital version. You sell the set when it goes out of print, hopefully at a profit. I just don't get why they didn't bother with CDs or even a digital download. The article Jay linked to says a free Digital Download comes with it... I think he implied as a standalone, cheaper item for purchase. The download just encourages people without high end systems or ears to preserve the discs as collectors items.
