Williams ring tones have existed for decades. I remember in the early 2000s, when the polyphonic feature was added to cell phones, I heard the HARRY POTTER theme ring out more than once while travelling public transportation.

I once had a favourite song of mine, Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party", as a ring tone (the first few bars, anwyay) -- but then realized it was a bad idea. I didn't want to grow weary of one of my favourite songs when I actually had to listen to it properly.

Yeah, I never use music as ringtones now - I'd just get weary of it.
