The Harry Potter 'Prove it!' Game

Justin

Recommended Posts

A fun MB game I learned. It's quite simple, someone makes a ludicrous and false statement about Harry Potter...movies, scores, or anything relating to Harry Potter and the next person that posts has to write a sentence or so proving it. Hopefully there'll be some interest here. Example....

Hagrid is addicted to weed.

--------------

Well obviously. He spends all his time in that little hut of his, claiming that he's just having "toasted oregano sandwiches" Obviously in the magical world "flesh eating slug repelent" is slang for "dope." He needs help.

Here's one to start us off. ROTFLMAO

They have the two best concert tracks of the HP series.

New one:

He just wanted those socks...

He eventually became so obsessed by the socks that it led to his fatal mistakes in book 5 and 6.

Kreacher is Dobby's evil twin brother.

There was a genetic experiment, and all the good genes went into Dobby. Everything that was left comprised Kreacher.

Erm... we have to *prove* the statements, not just comment on them.

Harry is really his own father.

He has the same hair, the same temper... Snape obviously knows it, too, why else would he be so mad about Harry. It's also why Voldemort was after Harry instead of just killing his father before his birth - because that's exactly what he was trying to do by killing Harry.

Professor Flitwick is a portkey.

He touches himself (interperet that however you want ) and between the CoS and PoA movies, is transported to a barbershop.

Everyone in the Wizarding World is the same person, using a combination of Aging Potions, Polyjuice Potions, and Time-Turners.

But leaving that point aside, according to Occam's Razor the simplest explanation for something is also the most likely one. So why should multiple people exist when it's totally sufficient that one person exists? (Here the math comes into play too, as this whole scenario can be described using an axiomatic wizard, a set of transformations (potions, spells, ...), and applying a ring-structure (modulo timeturner)).

(Side note: of course Hermione learnt this in Arithmancy, so she took advantage of it by flirting with herself in form of Viktor Krum to make Ron jealous. But, as Ron is really herself, she's quite a schizoid person. BTW this also means the shipping scene has nothing more to complain, as everyone is in love with everyone (though hating everyone at the same time... still with me?))

Hagrid's rock cookies are really... um, you don't want to know that, 'nother one:

Harry never saw Sirius on the Marauder's Map. Since he is in fact Regulus, and Harry never knew of Regulus until OOTP, from when on neither entered Hogwarts, we can assume that it was Regulus, since Harry wouldn't have recognised him on the map. As everybody seems to be happy to accept him being Sirius, we can further conclude that the two brothers are similar in appearance, and hence that they have been "swapped".

Hermione's wand contains one of Snape's hairs.

(PS: I replaced my original claim after I realized that it seems actually true when watching the movies)

Hermione's wand contains one of Snape's hairs.

I suppose this could be explained by Hermione's brilliance at potions. Perhaps Snape is a Unicorn, he always had that pale....horsey look about him.

Mrs. Norris is actually McGonagal.

Both are (at times) cats, and it's obvious that the "Mrs" in "Mrs Norris" must have a deeper meaning. Also, Mrs Norris does just what McGonnagal does: Keeping a strict eye on the students and the Hogwarts rules. Obvious, really. I prefer not to elaborate on her relationship with Filch.

Fred and George are in reality triplets, assuming each others identity in turns, but not even Ginny and their brothers know about this, as it would considerably strengthen Voldemort's influence this secret got out.

William Ross composed all of the music from CoS

There is no evidence of this....none....none whatsoever. Preposterous idea...tomfoolery....:|

Because I've never heard Ross write a score as good as CoS before or since then. Because on the album cover it says "Music Composed By John Williams". Because on the night in question Mr. Ross was infact having drinks with me in the 3 Broomsticks. I drugged him, tied him up, covered him with my invisibility cloak, hired a rather nasty troll named Earl to guard him for 7 days and 7 nights, stole three of Ross's hairs and, using polyjuice potion, transformed into Mr. Ross and conducted the LSO myself!

He played "Hedwig's Theme" on the recorder during the shooting of the first film. Who else would've known the theme at that point?

Why else would McGonagall look like she wanted to stomp on it in PS as Neville retrieves it from her feet? Added to that, Trev was "hem hem"ming at the trio when they leave the common room to go through the trap-door.

In hindsight, she's not particularly good at being incognito; she looks like a toad 24/7.

Because Eva Braun died in 1945 and so did Grindelwald. So they have to be the same person.

We all know he's really just a crazy old coot. These bobbleheads were the items Harry broke in his rage at the end of OotP; he just didn't notice what they were, through his fury. That's why Dumbledore didn't seem to mind that they were being destroyed.

-------------

The mission Dumbledore sent Hagrid and Madame Maxime on at the end of GoF was actually to find and destroy the first Horcrux.

This must be true as they are nothing more than boring unfunny gits in the first two films and then hillarious, outgoing, young pranksters in the 3rd and 4th. They disposed of this "unfunny twin" at the end of the third film by feeding him to the whomping willow.

Dumbledore is a Power Ranger.

Dumbledore was once the Transfiguration teacher, and most people agree that he is likely an Animagus, a form of self-transfiguration, less formally known as "morphin". None doubt Dumbledore's "power", he is indeed a "mighty" wizard.
