FBC Director 10,764 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 But I have no clue how Zimmer will approach it.Brommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... brommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
KK 3,310 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Zimmer is more than suitable for this kind of film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZBUxNC1fRk Meaning only that it's a safe bet what they would produce for such a story. But I have no clue how Zimmer will approach it.Nah. Zimmer's results could be just as predictable as the others on that list, given his past dabbling in the genre.
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Zimmer's foreign output is pretty different than what he delivers for good ol' Hollywood producers. The film looks fantastic, and considering Richard Harvey is tapped as co-composer, this could be a nice treat of a score. Code 000. Destruct. 0. and Muad'Dib 2
KK 3,310 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Is Richard Harvey attached to this too? Could be very promising then.
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Both their names are on the little credit slide at the end of the trailer.
publicist 4,650 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I just found that i have about 40 minutes of LAURAS STERN. And not one minute of it really sounds like Hans.

Jay 45,197 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Ford Thaxton on the Pan delay 1.) The Film is being recut to make changes that will make it more "Family Friendly", certain characters are being changed so they are more "Family Friendly" 2.) The Additional time will allow them to make these changes and open at a point when a family friendly film will stand a good chance at making it's $$$ back. 3.) The Studio clearly wasn't happy with the director's vision and so now they can only go back recut reshoot a few things and re-score. Such is life in Hollywood. Ford A. Thaxton http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=106920&forumID=1&archive=0
Jay 45,197 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Moving a "family friendly" from from the middle of summer break to the first month of school - makes sense.
Jim 6,172 Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 They're making another fucking Peter Pan? Jesus just let it die. It's gonna bomb.
Muad'Dib 2,017 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Ok, so the film's gonna suck, but I hope Powell still delivers. I just hope it's not another Mars Needs Moms where they tracked the hell out the movie with his own movie, and despite he provided an excellent score, it's too close to self-plagriarism. I hope this is not the case and we get to hear Powell in full swashbuckling mode!
KK 3,310 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Typical.Considering Wright's losing just as much from this, I guess that means there's no love lost between Marianelli and Wright then. That's good.
Sharkissimo 1,977 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 ROAR (1981; dir. Noel Mashall)Β Β My kind of film.Β Β
Muad'Dib 2,017 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 That film is something else. It's a complete disaster, but it's a hipnotic disaster.
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Can someone identify the music in this trailer? I know it, but can't place it. The piano at 1:10 is the tune I'm referring too.
A24 5,026 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I only recognize fellow countryman Matthias Schoenaerts. It looks like he's the new Rutger Hauer. Alex
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 You don't recognize Carey Mulligan or Michael Sheen?
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Kingdom Of HeavenMidnight In ParisTRON LegacyAll films you've seen.More notable for The Queen and Frost/Nixon.
Jim 6,172 Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Wtf Arnie's new 'serious' movie is getting great reviews?!http://variety.com/2015/film/festivals/maggie-review-arnold-schwarzenegger-abigail-breslin-1201477855/I admit this The Last of Us-alike zombie flick has quietly been on my radar for a while and I was semi hoping it might turn out to be decently watchable, but I was never in million years expecting a close to glowing Variety review.
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 So no one knows the music in question? Could it be Einaudi?
A24 5,026 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 A very positive first reaction to 3 minutes of footage of Ridley Scott's The Martian:http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Matt-Damon-Struggle-Stay-Alive-Martian-CinemaCon-Footage-Riveting-71056.html
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Don't forget the very positive early reactions to the 2/10 Interstellar, Alex.
A24 5,026 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I'm just reporting. It doesn't mean I think The Martian will be good.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 If anything, I think it indicates another dud! Those "humorous" quotes are embarrassing....
BrΓ³nach 1,321 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Being a Ridley Scott thing, I'll probably pass.
A24 5,026 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 They say the book is very good. It's gotta be better than Prometheus.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,842 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Even Flikken is better then that film!
eitam 407 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 So no one knows the music in question? Could it be Einaudi? That's Korzeniowski's W.E. (e.g in Dance For Me Wallis).
Jim 6,172 Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 So The Martian is a desert island movie? I'd never even heard of it till now, but that's one of my favorite genres! Added coordinates to radar. Might have to watch Hell in the Pacific again this week.
nightscape94 968 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 The Visit (Shyamalan) Did Shyamalan seriously just make a found-footage movie? Has it come to that?
KK 3,310 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 What happened to that romantic comedy he planned on directing?I wonder if JNH will write anything for this film.
BloodBoal 8,066 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 What happened to that romantic comedy he planned on directing?Well, maybe he just abandoned the romantic aspect. But the comedy definitely seems to be there in the trailer.
A24 5,026 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Everything is better than The Last Airbender, right?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,842 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 After Earth was better?
A24 5,026 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Beats me, I don't watch Shyamalan movies. The last one that I saw was with Marky Mark.
