Anybody have any clue when this score is going to be released? Most likely it will be released around the same time as the movie (duh), but I was just wondering if anybody knew of an exact date. I am eagerly anticipating this one. Thanks.

Ah, so that's where conductor Tom came from. ;)

Looking over that article made me sooooooo excited for the score! I can't wait to hear it!!!

Well like the last two MI movies I'm sure there will be 2 releases... one of the songs and another of the score.... with this being from Hollywood Records it's hard to tell which it is but I would bet it's the song one first as usual.

He wrote over 100 minutes of score...so this will be a two-disc set, right? :)

I'm really looking forward to this score. If it's anything like The Incredibles it should be amazing.

Oh, that one won't be out until next year? Okay, I guess I can wait. :(

the two listings there I think one for music inspired from the Motion Pictures and the other could be the actual score just like they did for MI:2

Erik said there would not be any song CD released.

That's what I was told... but things could have changed... I'll see if I can find out more.

i know this has nothing to do with the release date, but if you go to ComingSoon or the official Mission Impossible website, you can take a look at 9 clips from the movie. Some of those clips contain portions of the score. From the little that I heard, and because some of those clips are the tops, it sounds like this score is gonna be awesome.

also, they've just released the track list and cover art over at amazon and varese sarabande. love the title to track 19.

and the release date as well: 5/9/06

It'll be 'impossible' to top Elfman on this one, but the clips sound good nonetheless. I'm definitely buying this CD.

If you've been reading the MI:3 reviews over at aintitcool, two of them have talked about Giacchino and have given him high praise, one citing him as the best crew choice Abrams has made and the other :

And through it all, Michael Giacchino’s score, frequently incorporating his riffs on Lalo Schifrin’s original theme, absolutely fills in whatever holes Abrams has left over. He’s evolving quickly into one of the best film composers working right now, and his score for this film is further evidence for that.

I've already pre-ordered the score

:?

Pete - who didn't care much for Elfman's M:I.

As soon as Michael Giacchino's M:I:III comes out im going start a thread to compare his score to Elfman's M:I score to see whether which score is better.

if you go to the mission: impossible movie site and just leave it alone, you can listen to what amounts to about 7 to 10 minutes worth of score. it includes most of the bits heard on the "First Listen" over at Soundtrack.Net, but it also contains some of the music that encapsulates those portions.
