A24 5,157 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 The trailer told me so. The trailer is never wrong.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Because I said it was.Great elaboration.

nightscape94 968 Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Actors don't need to look like exactly the person they're portraying to pull it off.EDIT: this was in reference to the Elton John thing, I didn't see page 138 until just now and realized my comment no longer follows the thread narrative
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 The first reviews are coming in at Rotten Tomatoes:Scott's The Counselor is getting 35% which is even less than G.I Jane. For now, Ender's Game has 71% but I predict it will end below 50%.not a surprise the movie looks like utter shit, not Last Vegas utter shit, but shit none the less.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Whats the difference?
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 you'll have to figure it out on your own.
crocodile 9,724 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 A cue from Roque Banos' score for Oldboy:http://soundcloud.com/jasonlarocca/oldboy-6m3-stereo-master-16bitSounds good!It does actually. Maybe not terribly novel idea, but definitely strong writing. It might be the only good thing about this film. In fact, it will be.Karol
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 The Expendabelles starring Meryl Streep (!!!), Cameron Diaz, and Milla Jovovich.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Who is this marketed for?
Quintus 6,499 Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 Still waiting for Pride and Predator here.
A24 5,157 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Duncan Jones, who made two mediocre movies with Moon and Source Code, is directing the adaptation of the popular videogame Warcraft.http://variety.com/2013/film/news/viking-travis-fimmel-warcraft-legendary-1200755267/
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Isnt Duncan Jones the future of cinema?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Now there's a person who was influential!
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Moon would be a huge success if they could put it in pill and sell it as a sleep aide.
A24 5,157 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Since the critics have lost their minds, Ridley Scott's The Counselor might be actually quite fantastic:http://variety.com/2013/film/columns/the-counselor-rearview-ridley-scott-1200770790/Rejected by critics and audiences, this bold, thrilling noir shows just how little appetite there is for real daring at the multiplex nowadays.Alex
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Trailer for the new X-Men I officially have faith in Brian Singer!
Jay 46,245 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Anna Torv (Olivia from Fringe) stars in Heavenly Sword, based on the Playstation game Looks more like a cutscene in a video game than a real movie
filmmusic 3,272 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 One of the 2 upcoming films about Yves Saint Laurent:

nightscape94 968 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Duncan Jones, who made two mediocre movies with Moon and Source Code, is directing the adaptation of the popular videogame Warcraft.http://variety.com/2013/film/news/viking-travis-fimmel-warcraft-legendary-1200755267/While I don't care about Warcraft, the other two movies he's made are hardly mediocre.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Thats the main issue I have with democracy. Even idiots have a say.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa310YS5Ji4Well now... I'm not sure how Bach would feel, but this is very... novel?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 It is.Am I right in assuming that with the release of Ender's Game and Thor 2 the "winter" blockbuster season has already begun?
Matt C 605 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 James Mangold is returning for the follow-up to The Wolverine. And yes, Hugh Jackman is returning.http://www.deadline.com/2013/11/james-mangold-hugh-jackman-sinking-claws-into-another-the-wolverine-film/Another kick-ass Beltrami score, too.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 The last one was awesome!
crocodile 9,724 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 It was the best directed one, despite the script.Karol
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 What was wrong with the script?
Sharkissimo 1,978 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Best directed what X-MEN film? That would X2. Best screenplay too.
crocodile 9,724 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 What was wrong with the script? It has good ideas and I like the smallness of it all, but betrays its story in the third act. Than it becomes a typical mash again.I'd say, in terms of direction Mangold's film is up there with Singer's two.Karol
Bilbo 4,294 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 The Wolverine was very good even if the last 30 minutes kind of became your average modern action film on autopilot.
Sharkissimo 1,978 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I thought it was derivative rubbish.
crocodile 9,724 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I do like X2 a lot, but never saw anything special in it.Karo
