ChrisAfonso 237 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 the Maul/Qui-Gon dessert fightSomehow I just had a mental image of Qui-Gon and Darth Maul quarreling over a cake...
fommes 165 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 You mean throwing cakes at each other!
Josh500 1,620 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Yeah, but behind all this bitchin', there is love for the man and his works. If we moan about OST releases, it's because we think it doesn't do the score justice. It's out of respect for JW. We bash him because we respect him.Okay, when you put it like that... But oftentimes what I see here is complete disrespect for the maestro.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Define disrespect as you see it through your narrow pov?
Jay 46,244 Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 the Maul/Qui-Gon dessert fightSomehow I just had a mental image of Qui-Gon and Darth Maul quarreling over a cake...I love how your first post since the site returned is pointing out a typo I made
Josh500 1,620 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Define disrespect as you see it through your narrow pov?I am not talking about individual special cases like you. I am talking generally.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Some people are just nor gormless, dribbeling fools who gobble up everything Williams plates up for them.
Josh500 1,620 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 That is your definition of respect?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Always stay critical Josh!
Josh500 1,620 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 That wasn't my point. You can be critical and respectful, sure. And not, like I said, be disrespectful and crapping on people.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I think you are a dickhead for saying this!
SF1_freeze 138 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 On this german shop website the number of OST tracks is 13 but no tracklist is provided...http://www.treffpunk...i-p-699772.html
King Mark 3,975 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 5 tracks were cancelled at the last minute (I am the Senate)
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 ThiOn this german shop website the number of OST tracks is 13 but no tracklist is provided...http://www.treffpunk...i-p-699772.htmlIt shows 18 tracks.
King Mark 3,975 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 well it's all good now. 18 tracks, 1 track cancelled
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,388 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 We have no evidence yet that a track has been cancelled King Mark.It might simply be a case of re-titling, or maybe it had been combined with another score cue, something JW does a lot.
SF1_freeze 138 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 The funny thing is: When i found this website yesterday there was no tracklist and the number of tracks was 13Now i see that the very same website updated the page hours after i found it and that it was the FIRST shop worldwide to post a Tintin tracklist! You really have to thank me for finding that website
Jay 46,244 Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 Yes, great work SF1_freeze! My hat goes off to you sirNow, how about that War Horse track list?
Jilal 681 Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 So did anybody notice that in the:First trailerNew Spanish trailerMockupThere's a theme? I think it's the theme for either Captain Haddock or the Unicorn.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 As has already been mentioned many times, Snowy's Theme plays in the Spanish trailer and your mockup of TInkertinThe Williams music in the trailer that came out before the Spanish trailer is unrelated
Jay 46,244 Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 I think you need to get your ears checked
Incanus 5,890 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Variations. Not the same. But still the same theme, yes?
indy4 160 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 And with the Academy nominating 10 films for best picture, Tintin could get a nomination. Up did in 2009.
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 A new bit of the score:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4PkeZ-UvusIt's practically nothing, but feels a little more complete. A new piece of the puzzle! Sadly, it fades into that Sands of Time before reaching into anything new.
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Basically is the same, yes. But before the strings explode there's a little extra second, right when the ship is "sailing" over the sand.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 That's the same extra bit that was in the latin american version of the 2nd teaser.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Hmmmmmm. How about thisA while back people were asking me how much music was recorded in the original sessions (written in 2009, recorded in 2010). It's somewhere in the vacinity of 60 minutes - not sure exactly, but its AT LEAST 50 minutes.I have no idea how much additional music was written/recorded in 2011.But there's a pretty good chance the OST will contain very close to the complete score.
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 That is exciting news! Thanks again, Jason. And the movie itself is definitely 100 minutes give or take?
crocodile 9,724 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Not a long score then. Maybe it's a good thing. They generally tend to overscore everything these days to a point makes no impact whatsoever.Karol

Exciting prospect indeed!
Neimoidian 15 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Except for, possibly, Picking Pockets and various microcuts.
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Not a long score then. Maybe it's a good thing. They generally tend to overscore everything these days to a point makes no impact whatsoever.KarolWell, the movie itself is only 100 minutes. It's not like Star Wars or Harry Potter where Johnny wrote over 2 hours of music.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 I saw a comment on "Tintin fans" facebook page today indicating the final running time is 107 minutes. It's possible the film was extended after the original 2010 recording sessions, and the 2011 recording sessions were to record brand new music for brand new scenesIt's mind baffling to me that the finished footage shown at the san diego comic con never turned up online.
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 That's actually good. I don't want the movie to be overlong.I want it to be short but sweet. Same for the score: 50 or 60 minutes are quite enough, and these should be awesome!
Incanus 5,890 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I would also guess that Johnny got pretty rough material from this film back in 2010 so you might be quite correct in saying that they possibly had new scenes for him to score as well as revision of old material based on new edit.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Yea. So far all the music that has turned up in the trailers was from the original compositions but we know at least the Renee Fleming stuff was recorded this year.... I dunno. I wonder if I can interview someone about the score for the main page...
Rachael Foley 10,164 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I saw a comment on "Tintin fans" facebook page today indicating the final running time is 107 minutes. It's possible the film was extended after the original 2010 recording sessions, and the 2011 recording sessions were to record brand new music for brand new scenesIt's mind baffling to me that the finished footage shown at the san diego comic con never turned up online. This is'nt what your looking for is it:
Incanus 5,890 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I think Jason meant the actual footage from the film shown at Comicon.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Incanus is correct Reports at the time indicated that before showing the footage, either Spielberg or Jackson said the score for the scenes in the footage was recorded "just yesterday" or something along those lines. But that footage NEVER turned up online ANYWHERE, amazingly!
crocodile 9,724 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 They still got three weeks. Maybe Horner is Troy-ing to rescore it as we speak.Karol
Jay 46,244 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Here's my modified guess at a chronological order of the OST2. Picking Pockets 2:305. Introducing the Thompsons and Snowy's Chase 4:086. Marlinspike Hall 3:5911. Capturing Mr. Silk 2:587. Escape from the Karaboudjan 3:219. Captain Haddock Takes the Oars 2:1712. The Flight to Bagghar 3:338. Sir Francis and the Unicorn 5:0510. Red Rackham's Curse and the Treasure 6:104. The Secret of the Scrolls 3:1313. The Milanese Nightingale 1:3014. Presenting Bianca Castafiore 3:2815. The Pursuit of the Falcon 5:4316. The Captain's Counsel 2:1017. The Clash of the Cranes 3:4818. The Return to Marlinspike Hall and Finale 5:5119. A Thirst For Adventure aka The Adventure Continues 2:581. The Adventures of Tintin 3:043. Snowy's Theme 2:10Seems like most of the music from the end of the film will be there.
